Gah! Pepsi has invaded my keyboard!

Forgive my pleas, but once again I've grown careless and spilt some Pepsi on my keyboard (I'm using the backup one now). This has happened many times before, back when I was younger and didn't give a hoot. I've always used alcohol and warm water to clean out the keys, but is there a more efficiant procedure if at all? Particularly one that wouldn't attract... cute but too-damn-curious-for-their-own-good little kittens that you happen to own? This would help more than you know, thanks in advance.

Q-Tips can be used to clean out the liquids. That might help.

Best way is to not spill stuff in the first place. There's a reason most computer labs at schools/universities don't allow food or drink in. If you must drink, make it a bottle with a tight cap on it. Once you're done taking a sip, put the cap back on.

Heavens help you if you ever get a laptop.

That is true, but it's already happened, so there's no point in lecturing him on it...

Yeah, I'm sticking with what I have, plus what you do:

Use alcohol and warm water (Gets rid of the stain and the sticky, hopefully), and then get rid of the alcohol/water with a Q-Tip or five.

I think you're also supposed to let it dry turned upside down (lying on the keys) once it's cleaned.

Was it an expensive keyboard that mentored you through high school and introduced you to the chick that you eventually married?

If not you might consider just getting a new one. It'd save you a few hours work, and that's money well spent in my book.

I'd reccommend the alochol and warm water also. And I'd also suggest looking around for a keyboard protecter.

Fbreeze.

I would recommend you pour some Coca-Cola on there and the Pepsi & Cola can ultimately destroy each other because they hate each other.

No idea on the cleaning, I've never had an accident too bad with the keyboard...

Though I did have cherry coke get into my actual computer through a fan on the top of the case. If my computer was a person, the following step would be equivalent to unplanned emergency surgery; pull the plug and open 'er up. I had built the computer myself, and the case was "some assembly required," some, being from the ground up. It is a transparent case so I could find it, which proves that not only do transparent cases make the computer look cool, but add to emergency functionality. Plus they let green cold cathode lights shine through, which in turn look really cool.

You might also be interested in a foldable keyboard like the one that looks like mine on google. It doesn't claim to be waterproof, but my friend commented that it looked as so. It's a bit weird to type with, tho you can get used to it.
