Ack. This is wretched. I'll admit I was never a HUGE Dangerfield fan, but I had just read a write-up about him in Rolling Stones a couple months ago that certainly made me sympathetic towards him. It seemed at the time that he was close to dying, with him basically saying so. Sad.

I think he actually joked about his heart procedure. Something along the lines of "If it goes well, it should take about 2 hours... if it doesn't, about 15 minutes."

dang i heard about this earlier. i was thinking earlier on in the week that if i ever made a film it would have to have the dangerfield in it, no lie. i guess he would be like 90 by the time i ever passed film school, but still it was a nice dream
