You know.... after analyzing the photograph, I tried to come up with some witty comment or retort. I got nothing. Instead, I find it absolutely fascinating that the projected path of the eye of the hurricanes avoided the areas that voted for gore.

Of course, you seem to think this is an anti-bush statement... I think the opposite is true. Those regions that voted democrat over republican didn't get hit by the storms.... so now they're SLIGHTLY better off than the rest of the state, making them more republican, therefore improving their chances of voting for bush.

Conspiracy theory? Or mindless drivel. You be the judge.

Cloud Strife 10-07-2004 10:24 PM

Mindless drivel. Only IVAN's path was projected in that picture. The others actually went that way.

Little Unicorn Boy 10-07-2004 10:34 PM

bullshit. I defy you to find a picture even similar to that on an actual meteorology site.

Cloud Strife 10-07-2004 10:42 PM

You can't. You know why? Meteorology has nothing to do with politics, so they wouldn't have a map showing who voted for whom back in 2000.

Kenryoku_Maxis 10-07-2004 11:00 PM

Taking out the fact that all of Florida felt the Hurricane in some way, just because the Hurricanes didn't drectly hit the areas which 'voted for Gore' doesn't mean its some devine deity proving his point.

Many believe God created the world and its rules and left us to control it, interveaning when needed (and some Christians believe once prayer is envoked). You don't think there were local gatherings going 'Hey, lets all STAY in Florida and pray to God to send the Hurricanes to hit those EVIL Republicans!'.

Secondly, as you can see on the map, the areas that voted for Bush FAR outnumber those areas that voted for Gore. Well, chance gets a bonus for having a good 70%-80% of land area where Bush voters primarily are.

Third, peole are just obsessed with bashing Bush. You don't see people back in the 1800s who are trying to blame Lincoln getting shot by a Tornado or Truman Winning his election dispite all views that he had lost from a Meteor Shower. And guess what...these were the times when America was WAY more religious than it is now.

No, its just another radical 'OMG I HATE BUSH FUCK HIM I GOTTA SMEAR CAPAIGN HIM SOMEHOW!!!!11' guy making up something REALLY stupid.

don't sass me, junior.

Cloud Strife 10-07-2004 11:09 PM

Sorry, couldn't help it. It presented itself, so I took it.

GatoFiero 10-07-2004 11:12 PM

I don't care if it's real or not. That is funny.

I think it was a joke.

Plus, aren't the lines the path the eye of the hurricane takes, wouldn't the actual storm be anywhere but there?

Bob The Mercenary 10-07-2004 11:32 PM

My grandpa voted for Gore and he's without a home at the moment, so fuck you and your "analysis".

[Edit] Not you Andy :D

Cyclone231 10-08-2004 12:36 AM

That picture reminds me of that Teen Titans character... what's his name... oh yeah. RED X!

Illuminatus 10-08-2004 12:40 AM

Actually, since anyone who goes to church and believes what they hear is much more likely to vote for Bush, this is a strange and potentially ground-shattering analysis.

If it were true. If those are the path's of the "eye" then it proves that God IS on Bush's side. Which I fervently hope is not true.

Most likely, it's a lot of bullshit. But it's highly amusing to me.

Wow. Suddenly I'm getting flamed for somehow insulting someones Grandpa.

But wait....I didn't insult him, nor anyone else, except the person who made up that picture if he was trying to be real.

Don't jump on me just cuz your grandpa voted for Gore and happened to have his house hit. I feel sad that your grandpa lost his house and this dumb picture in no way is connected to the people in Florida or the presidential election.

Which was the ENTIRE point of my post.

BlackMageGirl! 10-08-2004 01:33 AM

Heh, that's pretty funny. I wonder who takes the time to make these things?

Robot Jesus 10-08-2004 03:34 AM

This guy

Osterbaum 10-08-2004 04:53 AM

Yes...This must be a message from god. Now you all know what he thinks, so beware on who'l you are gonna vote on the up coming election.

It's obvious god is a democrat. Or rather...A liberal.

Don't take this thing too seriosly.

Meister 10-08-2004 05:26 AM

Ahem.

Sorry, I didn't mean you when I said that. I meant the guy who made that picture. No hard feelings? :) I actually liked your post.

Loyal 10-08-2004 08:58 AM

The thing I find the strangest is that the Bush areas are labeled pink and the Gore areas are labeled blue. Isn't it usually the other way around (Democrat = Red, Republican = Blue)??

I remember another guy did the same thing with Bill Gates and it was just as convincing, even though this guy takes a lot of verses completely out of context.

WanderingActor 10-08-2004 11:32 AM

All I hear is blah-blah-blah I'm a dirty democrat. Bush will win this election, I'm sure of it. Meteorology has got nothing to do with it. But to keep this thread from turning into another political debate, I shall end my post now.

KefkaTaran 10-08-2004 12:19 PM

I think many of you (*cough*KEN!*cough*) are taking this a bit too seriously. It's a.) obviously a joke and b.) obviously silly. If you want to say "Hey, that's silly, and I think it's stupid!" that's cool. I respect that opinion. But I don't think the author or the one who posted it was trying to make a SERIOUS critique of the Bush administration.

It was just, y'know, a joke.

Sorry then. You gotta label who you're flamin' man. -_-

shiney 10-08-2004 03:40 PM

The joke was killed by people who have no sense of humor.

Game over.
