A glabrezu is a big four armed demon (two pincer-like and two normal) with a dog-like head. Its not quite a big as a balor (being only aorund 15 feet tall) and its general aim in life is to corrupt mortals with promises of power and wealth. It generally prefers to avoid fighting but when angry its really nasty. When in combat their battle spells are mostly fairly unsubtle. It can grant wishes though, but generally requires that the wish causes pain or suffering or demands some sacrifice in exchange. I say we try and see if we can get on its good side.

I just described it in my most recent post...and I also recommend that we find a virgin to trade for a wish.
Actually, a Glabrezu is BIGGER than a Balor (Balors are about 12 feet tall), but not as powerful. A balor is smarter, physically stronger, and has considerably more potent magical abilities. |
I'm glad you put in that Za'rel didn't drop her guard Dragonsbane, as, even with the fanatical honor-worship, she still dosen't trust deamons. Not to mention, she essentially challenged him first.
|
Za'rel wouldn't drop her guard, I knew that much, and demons HAVE no honor! ;)
Still...parleying may or may not work. Depends on how things turn out, and partially on whether or not Myrra and Mercury actually join in. One more thing...a typical Glabrezu has a Challenge Rating of 16, it's not some uber-demon. We can kill it without significant injuries if we move fast enough. |
Approximately just-slightly weaker than the CR 17 Modified Progenitor Iron-Golem. Their 13 normally, but, you'd think with all the modifications I gave it, It'd be about 17 or better...
Right, well, if he wants a swift death, he can beg for one. By beg, I mean, attack DB. |
who, me?:p
[edit] Well, are you going to post, or what? |
Obviously. Aeryn is a level 500 Wizard/50 fighter. He can take him, no sweat.
No... I'm not posting. Unless your stupid enough to think Za'rel is just going to jump in and shred the deamon while your talking to him. She's assumed to be taking a rather nonchalant, ready-stance, perpared to either leap into combat, or out of the way of a spell. ((DB, finish your DnD char while your at it, will ya?)) |
Look...I'm not doing any godmoding now, am I? Therefore, cease your taunts!
I meant talking to the demon...unless you'd rather have Aeryn speaking for the entire group, of course. *evil grin* or is Za'rel Aeryn's official "silent bodyguard" now? :p ((I'm working on it! These things take time, Phoenix...besides, feat-picking is HARD!:( )) ((especially since I usually play as a human or elf wizard...I can pick feats for wizards, but picking them for fighter/monks is much harder.)) |
For all these CR based arguments I offer my irrefutable counter. This ain't D&D. Thus I mock and deride your logic.
Of course, if you wanted a really nasty challenge, I once came up with a monster called a dice wyrm. It had six heads (d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20) with various nasty breath weapons. My favourite probably had to be the cone of dice karma. Getitng a bit more on topic. If we say the glabrezu's a nasty encounter than it is. Case closed. |
You notice I called it a "Stronger-than-average Glabrezu"?
If this WERE DnD, I'd call it an "Advanced Glabrezu". Basically, it's the high-ranking servant of some powerful demon lord...sent here for some purpose that may or may not involve us. If it does, we won't find out about it until after Myrra's fiance is restored to life. |
