HALO 2 leaks it
yea thats right folks yesterday night Halo 2 went LIVE (!zing :bmage: ) heres the full article
http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=56931 this link in no way directs you to download the game and do not PM me telling you where you can get it because you cant *ahem On a sidenote: This doesn't make me angry, could I possibly say this makes me feel good ? probably. The truth is i couldn't care less for this Over-hyped, Over-rated game. I just though you should know. No ones safe. Go play some real FPS's |
I've seen it on FTP sites. For some reason, I don't like this. I didn't mind copying shit before, but now it's everything as soon as you can get it. Argh.
|
This angers me greatly, but it will probably do little to actually hurt Halo 2's sales.

It's odd. I have a friend who loved the first Halo. And he downloads music and games like mad. And this happened and it was on the system he uses... but he said he wouldn't download it and that it "kind of pissed him off."
Does that seem odd to anyone else? I mean seriously. Hell. |
It is wierd. I actually remember hearing something during Freshman band. A bunch of the kids were talking and they were saying: "Its ok to download. Just not Dave (Matthews) because he really needs our support." Pfft. What that really translates to is: Its ok to steal, just not from people/things we support, and I think thats what this is a case of.
|
It's either you illegally download copyrighted materials w/o paying, or you don't. There's no grey area, and those that think there is really have a very illogical set of ethics. I don't care if my favorite game/musician has a working copy leaked onto the net... I'd probably go and get it, and if it's good enough for me to go out and buy, I will.
btw I heard the Halo 2 leak won't work on LIVE, so that's some incentive to get the real deal. Last but not least, some quote goodies from pplz who have played Quote:

I love Halo, even in it's shoddy PC port form.
It just doesn't seem right. I don't know. Maybe it's me having double standards, but I think it's something to do with the fact that the release was so built up, and then someone had to take it's legs out from udner it by releasing an inferior version a month earlier. That just gets me. If someone can't afford the game, fine, but this is just... I don't know. I must admit I had Sonic Advance 3 before it came out, but was hardly as big a thing, and Sonic Team kind of have been pissign everyone off. Whereas Bungie haven't done anything really - the shoddy PC port wasn't there fault. I just think we should support Games companies that do innovate, instead of the ones that release inferior sequels. |
Inferior version? It's the completed game. What's inferior about it?
We need to look at it several ways: 1.) The game was bound to get onto the internet eventually anyways. Whether before or after release. 2.) The only reason that the time it got leaked would affect Bungie is if it got leaked before release it could lower sales. 3.) We know Halo 2 is still gonna sell tons. It's already reached, what, over a million sales in pre-orders alone? This is not an area Bungie has to worry. If the leak had actually been an inferior or incomplete version (ala the Half-Life 2 Source leak last year), then I could see a reason for people, even people who download otherwise, to get made. In this case: Bah. Wetflame: I'd definitely say you have double standards as described by Chaosmage and Darktoaster. |
