Wand Chucks

Where are Black Mage's Wand Chucks and why isn't he using them?

Because he never really got them.

You see, that was a guest comic (or filler), and it was never meant to take part of the original story line. At least until now, it hasn't. Wand Chucks were used only for that comic, a non-8-Bit Theater. Or at least I think that's how it goes...

But besides, he perfers to Hadoken and stab at things. So there. :)

And besides, they weren't wand-chucks, they were staff-chucks.

It was the "Merry Christmas" episode. Merry Christmas episodes never count.

Besides being part of a guest comic and thus not canon, I don't think they'd fit into the regular storyline. They'd unbalance things by allowing BM to cast fire/stone/ice/I-don't-know-what-else at everything within a 30 yard radius anytime he felt like twirling 'em, as opposed to being limited to the number of spells he can manage in a day. Plus, ain't a hadoken so much more satisfying?

I like to think of the staff-chucks as an Xmas toy. A nifty gift, and fun to play with, but not really useful in real life.

How could they not be useful? You all saw what they did to the forest around him! Personally, I'd take staff-chucks over Hadoken any day.

let's break this down

Round one: Damage

after using the staff chucks there were burnt trees and fire.

after the hadoken theres nothing but a giant crater.

Result: i'm going with the hadoken because you'd have to use the chucks 50-60 times to get the same effect

Round Two: Usage

The chucks needed to be twirled but could seemingly last for ever

The hadoken is simple enough to cast but can only be cast once a day.

Result: The chucks take even after i factored in the fighterdoken version with the hadoken. Their just plain efficient.

Round Three: Coolness

The chucks have the whole history of the sword chucks behind them as well as being a pretty neato idea.

The hadoken is a beam of energy channeled directly from chaos and bm's own will that causes a giant crater and can kill just about anything in one hit and can be used as momentum (boatdoken). Plus it inspired the Medoken.

Result: Hadoken by a landslide

Match: Hadoken takes 2-3 to remain champ.

Stabbity

Why doesn't he use his wand-chucks?

1. Did BM ever use a wand in the first place?

2. Stabbing is more violent and gory.

3. Hadokening is really destructive.

4. Wand-chucks are really hard to use.

Slackbot 10-26-2004 06:52 AM

1) No, and he didn't use a staff either.

2 & 3) No argument there.

4) Maybe, but staff-chucks are easy. Just twirl 'em over your head and watch all hells break loose.

StabbityMage 10-26-2004 07:21 PM

I concur...

Quite true. Staff-chucks might be simpler, but BM is more of the total obliteration type (hence the Hadoken) & bloody revenge type (why else does he carry a knife?). :p
