Mech RP Sign up/ Discussion
It is the middle of the 21st century. A new world war has began. The US was being overwhelmed by the superior numbers of the enemy. Untill out of the shadows a new weapon appeared. It cut through tanks and jets like butter and moved as silently as shadow. They were the shinobi model mechs. The USA's latest weapon. They were soon followed by the glory model.
This advantage was quickly lost however. Russia soon developed its own high armored mechs. Quickly a conventional world war became a Mech War. Thats the story short and sweet. Each player will pick a model, a nation, and any other options such as optional weapons. However with betrayals, emergancies, and the ever changing face of war it is possible those choices can change. I am also toying with the idea of allowing pilots to have special techniques. These would resemble the mechs abilities and would be limited to a certain pilot in a certain mech. They will need aproval. That option will be voted on. Finally you can be the commander of a mech unit. To keep things simple each model will have one unit, ie Glory unit, ray unit, ect. If you have a good profile I will give you the spot. So make them good. Models Glory Nation: USA Weapons: Missle spray pod, and an option of Helbred laser cannon or high calibur single shot assult rifle Tactics: a well rounded transforming model used for quick strikes and faint attacks. It is usefull against all types but is also valnerable to all types. Best as a support or excort unit. Shinobi Nation: USA Weapons: One hip mounted katana. Twin concealed blades on the forearms (swing out) and a dagger. Tactics: Using advanced propulsion technology it is a fast, agile, and stealthy model. It uses its advanced tracking system and agility to dodge enemy fire until it is within striking range. It is best used in special ops missions and areas with dence cover. Against large numbers in open areas it is of little use. Apocolypse Nation: Russia Weapons: Twin cannons for arms and a back mounted gattling gun Tactics: Unlike the other models it uses treds in addition to bi-pedal legs, giving it best of both worlds. Its twin cannons' shells contain explosive heads with optional distance charge allowing it to explode mid-flight. They are best used in large groups prefferabley in open areas in a firing line formation. Its lack of mobility does make it easy targets for high power weapons and blades. Golyth Nation: Russia Weapons: none Tactics: This model is a brawler type. It is highly armored and has powerful graple and punches. It is ment to get in close and literally tear enemies apart. Sacrificing speed for defence it is an even match for Shinobi. It is best used in high cover areas where it can get in close, but can also be effective in open areas if need be. side-note: the dagger and missle spray have little affect on this high armored model. Ok this is just to start with. Soon I will post mechs for Germany, Britain, China, and Japan. Background: Megumi has been working hard for most of her life to set herself a foundation for building a family, and had planned to do so after earning a sizable bank account from being a corporate mercenary, but ever since the war started, Megumi has set that life on the back burner, joining the Japanese military in the hopes of keeping Japan from being overrun by any other national power. Though she was forced to take up the reigns as a unit leader, due to her greater experience in mech piloting and combat engagement, she'll do her best not to let Japan down. |
I'm signing up, but I want to know if we can add modifications other than the ones mentioned. Nothing outlandish, but simple; creating a hybrid mech out of existing parts for instance.

Kalamari
Nation: Japan Weapons: electo stingers, 6 radial missle pods, 6 tenticles Tactics: This mech is modeled after an aquatic tenticled life form. It is most at home in the sea. Its main use is to move stealthly in the water then crack open enemies while using its electro-shocks to disable its electronics. It can be used on land but is rather slow and valnerable. Its missle pods allow it to be used for sea based artilery. It is equiped with radar and sonar jamming devices and is equally in groups or alone. Gundam Nation: Japan Weapons: two energized sabers, a high focus beam rifle, and twin shoulder mounted vulcan guns. Tactics: Insipered by the anime these are bipedal units adept to both close and long range combat. It is an equal match for the Glory model but has trouble against faster models. Vanisher Nation: Germany Weapons: high-powered assault rifle with scope Tactics: This is an agile unit with cloaking technology. It has very low armor and lackes the speed to move as affective as the Shinobi. However by properly using the cloak it can confuse enemy units. It can only use the cloak while moving and must be still to fire its weapon so it is a hard mech to master. Ray Nation: Britain Weapons: energy blades at the front of the wing and fusion lasers Tactics: This was created barrowing technology from US. It is shaped after the sting ray. It can move in air or sea and can out run and outlast any other unit. Its blades can cut through any armor and its small shape and high speed makes it hard to detect. Its fusion lasers can cut through armor but it cannot pivot. It can only be used in straffing runs. It has no armor and its high speed makes it very weak. One shot will take it out. It is wise to always move and never allow them to get a lock only a few things are inter changable. No you cannot modify beyond what I allow. This is the military after all. You can tweak it slightly though. Oh and I will lead Shinobi models. They also have optional bombs, flash gernades, and smoke screens. China will be added soon and I might put in a few more. |
How many units are captains in charge of? Will we handle units like our own characters? What about commandeering mechs?

Appearance ] Though being a man at the head of a mercernary group, Kusar maintains a distinctly military outfit of blue with bronze buttons and a customized gray trim. All of his appearance is well-groomed and one would be hard-put to find a wrinkle in his outfit - as if he was a highly ranked military officer. He wears his pilot's suit with him at all times at missions where he may be deployed, a skin-tight grey suit covered with many of the devices necessary for stellar survival. Background ] Once a time, Kusar was a top-notched officer of the Steel Knights, the American division that utilized the new innovations of Shinobi and Glory frames, by the name of Michael Kellens. Bred by a family with a history of military service that extended far back to the 1800s, Kusar naturally was made to adapt to the new demands of service from the country to become a servant of the army. His experiences from even when he was a child enhacned his skills greatly, and he quickly rose through the ranks of the military. However, unlike his family, he was not one to blindly serve a cause. Several atrocities commited by the sides had made Kusar look back on what he was doing, and unsatisfied by the tethers of the government and the restrictions imposed on him at all times, he gathered allies from around the command branch and declared themselves mercenary, becoming independant from the army. They took shelter in Europe hidden but a time, biding their time until the 'surprise' of their leaving evaporated. They now emerged as a mercenary group by the name of Kusarian Razorclaws. Leader ] If possible, yes, since a good part of this would require Kusar to be the leader of his own merc group. However, he could be a subordinate, and I can change backstory to fit that. |
sorry no privately owned mechs. These are military weapons. Its like someone owning a tank or a jet in modern day. You command all units of the same model. For example I am in charge of all Shinobi models, and yes that includes the pilots. You cannot comendeer mechs because they are strictly military, so there is nothing to comendeer. But if it comes up you can capture enemy mechs or use those of allies (assuming you out rank them or have orders).
Oh and Emblem I decided to give you command of Gundam models [edit] Arachis nation: China Weapons: back mounted cannon, pincer incased pulse cannons, acid sprayer, energy blade on tail. Tactics: This mech is modeled after a scorpion. It has high land speed and can function in any enviroment. It is equiped with powerful weapons and it can support large amounts of weight, so it is also used as a transport. Its biggest weakness is its size. It has low turning speed and agility. It also has trouble menuvering in tight areas. Best tactic is for it to get in and attack hard and fast before the enemy can counter attack |
How big are these things? Are we talking like a few times bigger than Humans, or Zoids, or full blown story tall Gundams and the such?
Also, shouldn't the Japanese have the Shinobi model? Since the Glory and Gundam are so similar (according to you), you could easily jus switch em around and claim the nerdy US scientists based it on the anime. Also also, can any of these things fly? I know the Glory can transform (into what I don't know) but I don't see how a Ray or Calimari would ever be chosen if they basically are sea mechs. If I chose a Calimari could I have it modified so that it uses its other tentacles to walk around on land? |

They are gundam sized The Shinobi are quick and stealthy so they named them after the infamous Shinobi of Japan. Like how we have the Rhino tank yet the US has no Rhinos. And yes I could switch but why? Yes many can atleast hoover except the high armored ones. The glory becomes a jet like craft. The Ray can function in air, sea, or even space. So the Ray can work anywhere. Calimari can walk on land I believe I mentioned that, no modifications needed. However it is much slower. Battles will be fought at sea. Aircraft carriers have been modified for mechs, however Russia's models are of little use in water, China's is best used in shallow water on the ocean floor. Both Japan and Britain should expect alot of sea battles. USA and China half and half |
