OOC to Newb: Man, you've got strange names for your skills and characters....:D

OOC: Damn, looks like Rhiya is missing. She's the one who's supposed to post next. :(

Bailey 11-19-2004 07:21 AM

OOC: wish I could claim credit, this character is a total ripoff of the three trilogies Robin Hobb wrote. Farseer, Liveship Traders, and the Fool's Tragedy

Kildare 11-20-2004 06:52 AM

OOC: Never read Robin Hobb before. And WHERE THE HELL is RHIYA? And everyone else for that matter......

This makes me a VERY sad panda....:'(

Fire, ice and blood

OOC: I hope this is sufficient.

Aeris, Shuren and Wind now stand together facing the Tiamath. A Phoenix Guard, a werewolf and an sorceress riding a wind steed. All of then are wearied from their struggles - there had been precious little time to rest in the last few days and this battle was pushing them to their limits. Even their best efforts may not be enough though. While it has been wounded, the Tiamoth's unholy might seems undiminished and the other demons are climbing out of the pit that had held them after their flight had been reft from them.

Yet the three stand before them, calm and resolute. If this is to be their end, then they will go down fighting. They are bloodied but unbowed as their enemy approaches, the light snow fall evaporating where it touches the demons' fiery blades. Shuren's rage has cooled, leaving a tempered determination. As one, they step together, words unnecessary. One wields elemental sorcery, one wields the power of the divine and one wields a potent but untrained magic.

As if they had practiced this endlessly, they call upon their disparate magicks and send the power flowing between each other. Their minds are in perfect sychrony and they move with one accord. The magic can visibly be seen flowing from one person to another in a filgree pattern of woven light. The demons charge and then, with the demons just a handsbreath away from striking them, they counterattack.

The air trembles with bated power like the charged atmosphere preceeding a thunderstorm. Then with a sudden rush, that power is released. Wind, Shuren and Aeris leap into action, sparks flying from their weapons and magic burning in their eyes. The first few demons are obliterated entirely by the sudden onlaught, deadly mage-lightning crackling into their ranks and their spirits sent wailing back to the infernal pits that spawned them. The Tiamath itself is slowed by the burst of power but it continues to plow forwards, matching its might against the three.

A wordless communication passes between them and they smite the ground at their feet. The snow flys away in a flurry and the bones of the earth are sundered, splitting into yawning fissures. Many demons fall and it is nigh impossible to see what is going on with the swirling snow and the blinding energy of the spells. The Tiamath falls upon them, swiping at all of them with its many tentacles. They answer with more power, becoming a scene of white snow, fiery magic and twining black tendrils. A tentacle grasps at Wind, she is the last of the three to feel the bite of its venom. More tentacles thrust at her while Shuren and Aeris try to move to help her.

With a cry of mixed rage and despair, impossible to tell who's throat it burst from the channel forth more magic, draining them to their uttermost limits. Their sight dims, normal vision paling before the spiritual and from past their reserves they send a final swelling burst of power and the earth gapes to swallow the Tiamath. All senses fail as, with a pure note that rings across the heavens, power stabs into the sky, making a beacon that can be seen from miles around. Then darkness.

An eternity of murky oblivion latter, Shuren awakens. Like before his hearing seem to be be going in and out of focus but now his sight seems tinted with blood and also seems to be ebbing and returning. He staggers over to Aeris who lies nearby on the broken rubble and is also awakening. The torn up stone is covered with snow, suggesting that they've been unconscious for quite some time :We must leave immediately, lest other foes are drawn to this spot:

Aeris' eyes go blank for a moment as the memory of the last few hours comes back to hit her, "But, what of Wind?"

:She is nowhere nearby. I think she fell into the chasm with the Tiamath.:

Aeris asks a different question to avoid having to think about Wind's absence, "Why can I understand you now?"

Shuren looks puzzled, :I don't know. Perhaps it is an side effect of the spell. We will be able to cover more ground if you ride me in my wolf form: And on saying this he shifts from the human form he had reverted to when he had fallen unconscious to his wolf form.

OOC: Hmm, I was hoping that you'd cast an imprisonment spell on Wind or something. And are you guys still in White Wolf Mountain? And Arhra, can you control Charcion please, since your character is more or less involved with him and his brother, so you know him more than I do.

BiC:

Back at the main army of Apocalypse Knights, the surviving warriors of the Order soon caught sight of the town of Archeron(as the Humans in the region called it, named after the famous archers from the town). Being the only elven town within vicinity, Archeron was more of a trading hub than a agricultural town. Merchants passing through the region usually make a stop in the town of two thousand elves to trade for the products of elves' spectacular craftmanship before leaving for their next destination. Arthus silently wondered whether these elves would ever leave their peaceful abode when the news reached them that they were in the path of a horde of undead and demons.

Looking back at Charcion, who looks to be in a dazed and semi-conscious state, as if he was half a world away from where they actually are, Arthus thought of the fate of the others back in White Wolf Mountain. Had they escaped? Or were they killed, forever buried within the blinding fury of the blizzards? However, Arthus had no more time to entertain these thoughts, as they had already reached the gates of Archeron. Arthus had now more pressing concerns than the unknown fate of his companions.

OOC: Great. I'm double-cursed now. If you've seen certain older star-trek movies, you'll know what I mean.

Aeris wearily sits up, brushing her red hair out of her eyes. "But we can't just..." But Shuren interrupted her, and he was indeed right. Trying to save Wind now would not be a good idea, no matter how you looked at it. She tried to stay concious, the cleric managing to claw her way into a crude sitting position atop Shuren's wolflike body. "I feel different Shuren, but I can't place it. Lets... Just get out of here..." she wearily sighs, clinging to him as they ride away from the scene.

Arhra 12-01-2004 08:01 AM

OOC: As a quick guess-timate, I'd say it'll take about a week of travel to reach the point we were planning to meet up at. The original plan was to meet up in 10 days after all. What exactly was the place again though?

Shuren settles into an energy conserving loping gait that eats up the leagues. Around them not a sinlge living thing stirs, leaving them alone in a white desolation. It seems that the demons and the catalysmic battle have scared the wildlife into hiding. He is being pragmatic and focusing on survival at present. Other issues can wait. Though right now the first priority was to get as far away form the scene of the battle as possible, Shuren asks an important question for their destination, :Should we continue as was the plan or backtrack? A pack of that size is easy to follow. I do not think I can make it if we do not go back: That was true, the two of them had taken both physical and spiritual wounds and a note of fatigue is heavy in Shuren's voice. But Shuren still moves on, battling his own limitations.

OOC: As a little note to clarify, the pack Shuren is talking about is the army of the knights.

Kildare 12-01-2004 10:15 AM

OOC: We were supposed to meet up in the town, remember?

fub 12-04-2004 12:39 AM

ooc: Obsolete has informed me of not being able to get on the forums. He said that someone should take his charector
sorry to keep you all waiting

Bailey 12-06-2004 04:07 PM

Ilgivan fell over, clutching his head.

One of the knights rushed over to help him, but he waved him off

"I have good news, and bad news. Aeris and Shuren are safe. Rhiya has fallen down a chasm."

Ilgivan looked around.

"so shouldn't we tell them now?"

OOC: sorry, my bad
