Circle Poems

This thread is for circle poems. To anyone who doesn't know what a circle poem is, its a series of words that begin and end with the same word. Each word relates to the word above it until you come back to the original word.

Example:
Cow
Spots
Hallucination
LSD
JFK
Assassination
Dead
Meat
Cow

It can be as long or short as you like but try to have at least six words to make it challenging.

Hmm... here's an idea, Druid... how about circular circle poems? Each poem's start/end word has to be part of a greater circle poem, with each person providing one entry: their start/end word.

Circles within circles.

Like 3 people create a circle poem with the third person ending with the same word the first person started with?

Thaumaturge 10-27-2004 08:21 AM

Something like that, but I was hoping to make it bigger... hmm... we could always have circles within circles within circles... but that might get a little difficult to manage.

Perhaps four or five people, the last ending, as you said, with the first person's first word.

Ok, I'll begin the greater circle within circle poem. So, I create a word, and do my circle, and then the next person doesn't begin with my word, but begins with the next word that would logically follow my first and last word, as if it, in turn, were in some larger, grander circle poem. Exellent. Like I said. I'll begin. Also, since we're doing circles within circles, we don't have to limit it to people, just posts. In other words, if only 4 of us are playing the game, we can do multiple words within our own larger circle. This circle will be the first test of our Grand Circle....which should eventually become its own thread. The Grand Circle Poem Thread.

This Grand Circle has a limit of 9, with the first and the last being 1 and 9. Each small circle has a limit of 9 too. Go!

Tornadoes
Witches
Charmed
Lucky Charms
Leprechauns
Pots of Gold
The Gold Standard
The Wizard of Oz
Tornardoes

go!
