What do you do when you can't sleep?

Well, it was brought to my attention that something like my other post was tried earlier in the year and horribly came crashing down. So it's a good thing it was closed. Er...maybe someone could just tell me why next time? ::chuckles::

Anywho, I figured this is something that makes sense to ask.

See, I'm kind of what you call an insomniac...sorta. I sleep around 3 hours a night and am fine the next day...And I can do it for weeks at a time. Well, anyway...

What do all of you do when you find yourself in the late hours of the night/early hours of the day still perfectly attuned, on a caffeine rush, or just can't friggin sleep?

I normally play video games to pass the hours...So, how about everyone else?

I force myself to at least rest. My body doesn't completely shut down, but at least I know my mind is inactive enough to make it feel a little more rested.

Here is what I have ended up doing:

Learn to live on three hours of sleep. I did this purposely of course, but my clock is set perfectly now and nothing can stop me when I wake up. It's relatively simple to start up. Just go to bed at 5 am and set your alarm for 8 am. Do this for about a week and you are set to go.

Or you could just buy yourself a nice, white straight jacket and join the friends speaking to you in your head.

I listen to music, sometimes draw. Or look for weird shows that come on late at night... Yeah. This is about everynight for me. I keep myself amused.

Oh! Almost forgot! I come up with missions to carry out w/o waking up teh parents. Like sneak into the kitchen, and bring some noisy thing back to my room.....

God I'm weird when I'm bored.

Erm... Yeah, you could invent sneaky things to do in order to raise your ninja skill, but that would be pointless when you could be raising your magic skill by trying to turn your hand into a spoon. Trust me...I would know.

MasterOfMagic 10-27-2004 01:08 PM

My magic skill is high enough, I am MASTERofMagic afterall...

On topic: I also daydream. Its cool to make up your own story line and see what happens. 'Course, I always forget the story by morning, but its entertaining at the time...

Well, recently I have become quite the insomniac. I find that I can write my best poems at 2 or 3am. It's either that or talking to the other forumers on IM. If there is an interesting conversation going on I will stay up for the whole night. I just can't make myself go to sleep.

It's the poet who didn't know it! *points* *glomps*

I greedily steal all of your poetry for my own reading pleasure now! *steals*

...and due to the spamming content within this post, I give another idea as to what you should do if you find that you can't sleep:

Eat.

Same here...

Meh, at night, I just roll in my bed for awhile, watch some T.V., and if it's needed, I open the window, and let the room get cold. For some strange reason, cold room + me = sleep.

Inbred Chocobo 10-27-2004 01:37 PM

Lets see I watch T.V., aI play videogames, watch some T.V., eat sometimes, sometimes I'll just daydream at night, so it would be more like nightdream, and did I mention I watch T.V.?
