most drawn out sequence in a RPG

What would you think?
My vote goes for Sephiroth's Super Nova spell.
It was a badass sequence watching the first time or two. But after a while, it was just kinda long.
Name some your choices for most drawn out sequence

Ark's Summoning in FFIX

The first half of Xenogears

I liked the first half of xenogears. The second half seemed like it was slapped together.

I think FF summons in general are drawn out. They're great the first few times, but they take way too long once you've played the game a while. I think in FF IV they only played the summon cut scenes once in a while. That was OK.

I heard in the Japanese FFVII the Super Nova spell thingy was a very short unimpressive sequence. Not sure if that's true.

C'mon now, I wouldn't say it was drawn out, but Xenosaga had a sequence with about 1 and a half hours of cutscenes! You thought Metal Gear Solid 2 was bad with one after another cutscenes? In Xenosaga it had you save three times during the previously mentioned barrage of cutscenes. It went like this:

cutscenes->do you want to save?->cutscenes->do you want to save->cutscenes->do you want to save?->game!
All in over an hour! At once!

It actually went by pretty fast for me, but it's pretty funny to tell people about it and see their eyes bulge.

Haven't played much of the aforementioned PS2 games, but Golden Sun for the GBA's intro is pretty drawn out, especially the part where you collect the gems.

I am in complete agreement about Xenosaga. But I see it as not just one drawn out sequence...but an entire game of them. Luckily you could skip the cut scenes, but the first time I played I didn't want to miss anything. Reminded me sooo much of Metal Gear Solid, but unlike MGS, Xenosaga almost put me to sleep.

I also think that summons in the FF games, while cool the first time, take too long. It would be nice if the full summon was shown at random.

Oh, just remembered. This one is even worse then Xenogear. The Bouncer, the entire game was one big cutscene, with 10 minutes of fighting. The game was much shorter then Xenogears, but in Cutscene:Gameplay ration, it easily beats Xenogears

If you hated the opening sequence in golden sun, dont play golden sun two, its about twice as long, not to mention you get really ancy about getting your old party because of the significant amount more ass they kicked. Its really necessary though....great storyline.

Hey, I liked The Bouncer...

And I never thought of FF summons as long until in FFVII I set Bahamaut Zero to quadra magic, and realized how painful it was to go through the entire sequence four times in a row...

Never played Xenosaga, but even I have heard of the legendary cutscene that is so long it had saves in it.

"The Opera" in Chrono Cross. that was like 15 minutes of poorly written tedium.
