Explination: Would you want to be there when the world ends? Just got curious.

We all know a simple 'yes' or 'no' won't suffice, so give some reasons, maybe some ideas on how you think it will end? Whatever, as long as its about the end of the world.

I'll post mine later, gotta think about my reasons....

Nah, I don't like the idea of being around when that happens, but if Bush gets elected again...I probably would be around.

Sorry...kinda anti-bush atm, everyone gets like that after a while. But seriously, I really do not want to be alive when that happens, hell I don't the idea that my grave or compost heap will be detroyed when that happens, thoughts like that give me the creeps!

Personally, I wouldn't like to be there, because you know what it means: you've been robbed of a full life. If the world ends while you're in it, you will have no legacy, and thus your entire existance becomes useless.

What is the meaning of life? To continue the chain of life forever. If the world ends, Life is destroyed, and all those who lived before become meaningless.

Well, if it happens, I would like to be there. Yeah, I'm kinda weird like that, but that would be the only way to know how it happens. Witnessing such a tremendous event, that obviously only happens once, would be worth it to me. Curiosity killed the cat, my curiousity would kill me.

And if you believe in an afterlife, then your existance wasn't meaningless. But thats just for fogies like me....

By "the world", do you mean the end of Earth, or the larger "end of the world," i.e. the universe?

If we have decent space travel by that time, I'd like to be present at the end of Earth, albiet viewing from a safe distance in a starship. It would be interesting to watch (depeding on what happens, I suppose...), and it would be the end of something amjor in human history. We would no longer have a home planet.

If the universe, then I'd rather not be there. That's very fatal, and thus not very nice.

I won't address the religious "end of the world", because that gets tricky, especially since it would depend on exactly which religion we're talking about.

Yess, now that I think about it, lets steer away from religion....

I meant that we don't have space travel, or the whole universe is blowing up. Which ever one floats your boat, since they have the same consequences. Though I'd much rather see the end of the universe, as it would be more spectacular.

I suppose that kind of depends on alot of things. when this end happens, is it directly humanity's fault? have we moved on to other planets by this point? how excatly does the world end?

if it was our fault, or we still just had earth, then yeah, i'd rather be on the planet when it dies.

You mean I have a choice?!

If the world ended tomorrow, I wouldn't off myself right now to save myself from the torture then. I couldn't live with myself in the afterlife if I didn't see how everyone went out.

According to the Mayans, most of us will be. December 21st, 2012 isn't that far away form now.

what!?!?! what does that mean?!?! man, then i have alot to do between now and then...

anyway, i think i would want to be around for the end, i don't have a particular reason that can be explained through words, i just would.
