The Spirit King: Rebirth
Sign-ups, discussion, and story are here . Sign ups are still open but its up to you to work your character in. Longer you wait harder it'll be.
IC: A man clad in armor stood in the wreackage. On his back was a large kuni and a tri-segmented staff. Out of his right shoulder was a mighty battle axe and out of his left a large war hammer. Sticking out the center was a single edged broadsword. From his right hip a koma was fastened chained to a weight that hung from his left. His right hand had a deadly mechanical gauntlet and his left had three large claws. All of this glowed with a spiritual aura. "This city provided me with many souls. Though none of which are very strong. Little more then foder." He then senced the presence of some spiritual force. "Perhaps I will have some fun after all." |
As he stands in the village square he looks around nervously and asks the merchant at the trading post while grabbing the collar of his shirt and asks, "Do you know anything about a man they call the Spirit King?" "No, I don't know anything about about no Spirit King", the merchant says hastily in hopes that the mysterious man will let him down. "Tell me the truth", the mysterious man yells not letting him down,"I know that you know something about him don't lie", he continues to yell as he burns a hole in the sign of the merchants market stall. He then walks away throwing the merchant to the ground dissapointed as he then meets up with his comrades. "I found out nothing from him.".......others can continue from this point...I also thought we could start in a village looking for information.

OOC: I'm not sure what sort of setting we're supposed to be in, but here goes anyways.
IC:"Are you sure?" a young man carrying an old bow said to apparently thin air. He was dress in a sleeveless, green shirt revealing well-muscled arms signifying many years of practice with the battle bow. His green, hooded sweatshirt was tied around his waist over khaki colored cargo pantsjust in case he needed the freedom to use his bow. "Uh, sure about what, young man?" asked an old man he passed. "Nothing," Alick hastily replied. He smiled and kept walking. He fingered a canvas bag at his hip that held arrows to go with his bow. "That was close," said a voice from Alick's shoulder. A white hawk, visible only to those attuned to spiritual energy, perched upon the young man's shoulder and clicked his beak to chastise his young charge's carelessness. "Ah, leave the lad be, Gavan," said another figure visible to spirit adepts only. He was dressed as a viking warrior, and had a hard face that was currently broken with a smile. "The fault was mine anyway." The viking ghost adressed Alick. "Yes, I'm sure. I felt a huge amount of spiritual energy somewhere near here. Just keep walking, and we'll find it eventually." "Fine," Alick continued searching for this presence Ivar said he felt 'somewhere that way.' |
Curd sat in a tavern drinking his beer and watched the people that came in, he hoped no one he knew from other towns would show up and get him thrown out of this one. His size made him take up a whole bench to himself which he didnt mind.
"Excuse me", he said in the kindest sounding voice his throat would alow him,"I would like another please", the waiter walked away with a weird expresion. He finished his beer and noticed spiritual power higher than usaul, well I hope its friendly. |
Ignoring the stares he always got, GadGad sniffed the air. Let's see, he thought, I smells me, I smells some other guy, I c'n smell a... hawk I think... I smell-l-l-l, a tavern. OOH! I smell some lonely dude in the tavern. And, sigh, I smell Freddy's anger.
"Now Freddy, throwing people's no good. I don't want a repeat of the last town we visited. If you want me to help you find this 'Spirit King,' then you're gonna have to stop causing so much hub-ub." GadGad pointed at a young man, who was apparently talking to himself. "I think that guy might be an interesting kid. I'm gonna go make friends. Why don't you go play in the bar.?" If I know Frederick, he'll go talk with that big guy I smelled. Then the guy'll have someone to talk to. GG whipped around and started towards Alick, but got distracted by some sea shells some stranger sat selling. |
Walking into the bar seriously dissapointed, Frederick sat next to Curd and ordered there finest ale, he then handed the tender 4 small gold coins more then enough to pay for his and Curds drinks, he then looked over to Curd, "I couldn't find out any information from that old man at the Market Stall, I got tired of him so I left him in his own little fright. Have you found out anything?"

Satoi was in the corner of the tavern, curled up in her fox form under an empty table. She was smiling to herself, watching all those wandering in and out. oooh, so many strong ones today. I wonder if any of them are in a good mood? Meh, who cares really. she lets out a small happy yip, then focused on the table with the two warriors at it. With a faint pop, a large sparkler appeared in the middle of their table, sending sparks into the air and causing them to be surrounded in smoke. now what'll they do...teehee, can't wait to see their faces.

Alick jerked his head around, and spotted a...something coming towards him. Man didn't see the right word, but thing didn't seem to fit right either. He looked up at Gavan, and the bird had his feathers ruffled. Alick slipped a hand into his arrow bag, and withdrew a regular arrow. He fitted it on the bow, but refrained from drawing it at the moment.
"Is that him?" Alick asked Ivar. "No," the old viking replied. "That's not the presence I felt, but he does have some strength in him, doesn't he?" "Yes, he does," the tailed being was almost close enough to reach out and swipe Alick off his feet. The archer took a few steps backwards, and brought the bow up and aimed the arrow right for what he assumed was the heart, but he still kept from drawing the bow back. "That's far enough," he said. "What do you want?" "Integrate?" Ivar asked quietly, in case the being could see and hear him. "Not yet," Alick said out of the side of his mouth. "I should be able to do this myself." |
GadGad had been slowly making his way toward his "new friend" when suddenly he smelled fear. He turned his attention toward the archer and noticed that his tail had been getting away from him again. "Oh, sorry 'bout that. Sometimes I get distracted and, ZOOM, off it goes. Never goes too far, though..." GG continued to approach. He sensed two presences near the stranger. He fiddled with the quill on his wrist. "Hey, ya got some spirits floatin' 'roundja. Might wanna do somethin' 'bout that."
|
"He does have some power it seems," Gavan said.
"Yes," Ivar said. "He can at least sense us. I wonder if he can see us." He moved within a foot of the newcomer and waved his hand in front of his face. He shrugged and moved back behind and to the right of Alick. Alick ignored both of them. "These spirits are my companions. I don't want to 'do' anything about them." Alick let the tip of the arrow dip. At least the something wasn't hostile. Now that he turned his focus away from searching for Ivar's great presence, he could sense the something's spirit strength, and several more of varying strengths eminating from the tavern across the street. "You still haven't answered my question. What do you want? Are you with that little group in the bar?" |
