why isn't there a FULL anime of Chrono Trigger?:(

seriously, why isn't there? I mean, it was a great game, and the clips are cool, so why doen't Akira Toriama make a full show?

chryos_the_forsaken 11-01-2004 10:05 PM

Because they stopped paying him after the first game was finished. Besides, he went on to make the DB franchise, and loads of other stuff. I jut think he was busy with everything else.

Sesshoumaru 11-02-2004 12:09 AM

Is that why Chrono looks so much like Goku?

Xenzos 11-02-2004 12:25 AM

yeah, he made the art for Chrono Trigger. But If I were him, id make an anime anyway.

Kenryoku_Maxis 11-02-2004 01:25 AM

Because 1) Most games don't have Anime/Movies made out of them, even really popular ones. Some do, but most do not. 2) Because Akira was doing the character design for games like Dragon Warrior and a ton of others as well as Chrono Trigger. CT was just a random game he did the art for (note: there's also no DW Anime). And 3) The Chrono Team has left Square now, Square doesn't want to say jack about the series and any plan for an Anime at this point would probably get buried by Sqeeenix

Priest4hire 11-02-2004 02:49 AM

Perhaps if Advent Children is a huge success Square will do a Chrono Trigger all CGI movie. Well, it's not impossible...

TheZeroMan 11-02-2004 04:10 AM

Yes. Yes it is. And you know it.

Sesshoumaru 11-02-2004 01:22 PM

Chrono Trigger would look better as an anime. Too bad it's never gonna happen...I feel sad now...

Kenryoku_Maxis 11-02-2004 01:40 PM

I would ratherthey made an Anime out of a whole new part of the Chrono Series. However, I would still want the people who wrote CT and CC to write it, and that's where the complications come in....

But even more than this, I want to see a full done Suikoden Anime series, because they have way way WAY enough story to make it. Even a hundred series...

Chrono would kind of be a 1 time thing, or at least it would have to be like Gundam and each 'season' would have to be its own little story. Either that or it'll just be a remake of the story from either CT or CC put into 26 episodes...

SNAFU 11-02-2004 02:13 PM

I would be good because I don't think it would be possible to do it without having Chrono talk. It could rival up there with Zelda the cartoon show!

I know the Crono team shut down a fan based remake of the game (Shows you how much they care about the fans. I'm kidding. I understand why they did it.), but does anyone know if this project is still going on... perhaps a bit more underground this time?

There was an one episode Chrono Trigger OVA, but it is centered around a Nu and one of those fuzzy round monkey monsters, and their exploits at night when all the monsters get to go to the fair. All you see of Crono and the gang is them from the back looking at stuff. They don't even have any lines.

The Chrono Team didn't shut down the remake, Squenix did.

The Chrono Team has been dissolved. The largest majority of their members left Square after Xengears and started their own group called 'Monolith'. They now work under Namco and are doing the XenoSaga series and the GC project Baiten Khaos' (sp).

Ugh....quit calling it a franchise!
It yuppifies it and make sit sound money driven.

AT is an ARTIST, not a BUSINESSMAN, and manga is ART!

I prefer to call it a SERIES.

And if youre going to use a business term, franchise is the least accurate...
