Full metal Alchemist

This and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex premire on Adult Swim this next saturday, and I was wondering if anyone knew anyhting about Full Metal Alchemist.

Full Metal Alchemist is one of my favorite animes of all time. It's right up there with Cowboy Bebop and Evangelion. If you plan on watching it on Adult Swim anyways, I see no reason to spoil the experience for you. All I will say is that it's awesome. I myself won't be seeing it on Cartoon Network. Seeing a sub ruins the dub for me.

Fullmetal Alchemist is right up there IMO. It's one of those shows that seems like it's all bright and cheery and then they do something and it leave me going, "Oh no....they didn't actually do what I think they did....this is a childrens show right?!" *ten minutes later* "Ok, so it's not a childrens show..."

Great plot.
Great universe.
Great action.
Scar rules.

one question, out of curiosity I will watch reguardless, whats the plot?

While your at it same question for Ghost in the Shell

The explanation of the basic plot spans a few episodes, so I'll put this in black. Well, the plot slowly changes as the story progresses, but in the beginning, here's the just of it. Alchemy is sort of like magic. You draw a circle and use it to channel power into the object its drawn on to manipulate its structure at a microscopic level. For example, you could change a metal bar into a sword. But you can't create something out of nothing, so you need to have something of equal value in order to make alchemy work. So these two kids, Edward and Alfonso Emerich, try to use alchemy to resurrect their mom. The problem is, the principle of alchemy is that you need to present something that's worth the same as what you're trying to make. So when they tried to bring their mom back to life, Al loses his body and Ed loses a leg (or arm, I forget which). When Ed realizes what happened, he offers another limb to anchor Al's soul into a suit of armor. The resurrection was a failure, so the brothers lost so much for nothing. Ed (with a metal arm and leg now) and Al set out to find the philosopher's stone, a legendary item that reputedly allows you to use alchemy without rescrictions. They plan to use it to restore their original bodies.

^^you're a little long winded.

Basically it's about these two brothers who are trying to gain back their body parts which they lost through an alchemy accident.

I need to put in my two cents on this one. This is the new "In" anime of the season. It may even get the following of Inu-Yasha. Ya that's right, I said that. I can't even begin to tell you how good this title is. Story, charactures, look, animation, ect. ect. all excellent!! As for the english dub, I couldn't tell ya. I know the japanese actors were beyond great. So I hope that FUNimation does the series justist or I will have to go down there and beat them with a shovel. Anyways check it out no matter what!!

By the way the first DVD is coming out on January 18th. Available for pre-order at a link below.

Stand Alone Complex is a parallel world from the Ghost in the Shell movie. Basically the events of the movie never took place in SAC.
