Square/Enix

Has anyone ever ordered a game from them that was on back-order? I ordered Xenogears from them, was informed it was on back-order and would ship as soon as they had stock, in about 19 days from now it will be 3 months that I've been waiting. Is that normal?

Sounds like you should be complaining like hell. Also didn't they discontinue the production of XenoGears? I don't know that's just something I heard about a year ago. Well best of luck with getting a copy, you might as well hit eBay, Amazon, or EB Games since there's a better chance you'll find it at any of them (sorry Square but the 3rd party shops have you beat here).
You may want to give some of these links a try:

How do I cancel my order?
How do I requset a refund?
When will the credit appear on my credit card?
What is your refund policy?

I think they've been in touch with thief for their return/refund policy.

They may not be manufactured anymore, not sure, but they do still have them listed for sale at square/enix... I'm sure they have to ship it internationally, I figured at least 2 months, but I'm really not sure exactly how long it should take.

Yea their cancellation and return policies suck, but they aren't charging me until the game is actually shipped here in the states.

Maybe you should call the company or check with their customer service department and find out with them directly? Seems like the logical thing to me.

Spyder_God 12-09-2003 01:24 AM

Well at least they haven't charged you yet!

However, if they haven't sent it yet that's pretty piss poor on their part since as you mention it's been about 3 months. I don't think I've waited longer than 3 weeks for anything I ever ordered online and that was for a Haruko poster I had imported from Japan. Hmm... I think there is definitely a weird lack of communications within Square-Enix, bring back SquareSoft =D..

Maybe they'll refund you some of the money since they're making you wait so long (and maybe hell will freeze over), what type of shipping did you get?

Nytdreamer 12-09-2003 01:35 AM

Yea, I may have to call them directly, their online customer service is automated, so evidentally they get this stuff a lot...

It is 3 day shipping when it happens to be in the states to ship.

my black mage t-shirt, ordered on november the 22nd, still isnt here.

why did you order it from japan? wouldnt it be easier to go to a game crazy, or funcoland, or some other place that buys and sells video games and look for it there? or maybe ask them to get it for you if they could, i would think they would have an easier time ordering overseas.

I ordered it from Square/Enix USA, since they don't have it I assume it has to be imported. It wasn't listed as a back-ordered or 0 in-stock item, I wasn't notified of that till 2 days after placing the order, and I figured ordering from the company that made the game would be easier than other places.

I thought I heard somewhere that Xenogears was due to be released as a greatest hits title sometime soon. May that be a reason?
