Is Red Mage Spanish?

I don't know how this came about, but looking at :rmage: hat and cape he kind of reminds me of Zorro.

If he were Zorro hed need to be in a black suit and cape, and the hat as well... and switch the feather with a white band that would go around the base of the hat to make it look jsut sweet as hell. Id say he's closer to a pimp with the feather..

Though he'd either need to switch to funky colored suits and what-not to go street pimp, or change to a nice suit, white on white or black on black, to be a stone-cold pimp...(cane optional with either variation :-p )

I ahree the attitude is alike, but except that... did you ever hear Zorro performing the Rite of Stat Swap?

Long answer yes, short answer no.

There you have it folks, from the mouth of Brian himself. RM is/n't Spanish.

No, the / is not a typo.

Is Sosa spanish?

Osterbaum 11-06-2004 11:14 AM

I was under the impression that Zorro wan't spanish either...

Hey maybe they'll decide to give the RM in the future 8-bit theater movie a spanish accent. Wouldn't that be a wierd twist? Brians post was confusing to me. I guess what he said was "RM isn't Spanish, but..." So I'm guessing that RM's mom is Spanish and she married her husband (I don't think he is Spanish, but you never know.) I also guess RM's mom gave birth to RM in Corneria. So RM's mom is Spanish, but since he was born in Corneria, he is officially a Cornerian. By the way DR. Cool, did you mean Spanish as in from Spain or did you mean some other country that has Spanish as their major langage?

The attire that Red Mage uses is actually more tied to the world of bardic lifestyle from the medi-evil ages. They wore hats with feathers, and vibrant colours, and yes even cloaks (it gets cold wandering from city to city playing your music)

In fact, when I was young I was so into Medi-Evil lifestyle I actually thought RM was meant to be a bard for a long time, so tied Red Magic with bardic lifestyle. In some games this holds true, where the bards get small healing and small dark magicks to use, instead of mastering in either.

As for the spanish, it was the french who had the hat with the feather, so if anything would that not make RM/Bard french?

As I recall (and it's entirely possible that I'm remembering wrong), the original Zorro lived in Mexico, not Spain.
