Well why dont we go back IC until this really gets started.

Harrington 12-10-2004 02:45 PM

Well, how about some context to spice this up some. Did you make up the Crimson Dragon bar? What world are we in?

Bailey 12-10-2004 03:00 PM

Tidus walked into the pub and saw that a number of people were sitting at the bar arguing over a lady.

this is strange, he thought to himself

where am i?

this isn't zanarkand, and it isn't anywhere i saw in my travels either.

OOC: or not. why don't we just leave this alone or create a new thread

i mean, i'm surprised it wasn't closed already.

over 200 replies!

Looking around Edgar notices a young man just standing in the bar towards the entrance, by the confused look on his face Edgar bet this was his first time in such an establishment. He remembered the first time he'd got drunk. Sabin too. Oh that had been a night! Father had not been pleased...not one but both
crown princes making fools of themselves...

Edgar shook himself from his revery, and continued to study the newcomer, "Jeeze, is asymetrical clothing and massive amounts of hair gel the style around here?" he mutters to himself as he notices one of the boy's pant legs is shorter than the other. Not to mention that other guy with only one shoulder guard. I mean come on! Was his other shoulder invincible or something?

Having nothing better to do, Edgar returned to his seat next to the very beautiful yet unfortunately spoken for lady. He considered giving it another shot but no...that really wasn't his style.

OOC: Alright, I haven't beaten FFVI so if I screw up while doing Shadow, go easy on me. Also, I'm not including his dog either, just Shadow. I like being a loner.

IC:
Shadow silently and swiftly made his way into the pub. Not so much as a glance at any bystanders, as he strode towards what his preferred place in a pub would be. Silently making his way over to the farthest end of the counter, he took his seat in one of the many stools.

"Whiskey." He said, eyeing the bartender with his usual piercing gaze. This wasn't unusual for a man who owes allegiance to nobody, and a man rumored to slit his own mother's throat for some gil. Whether it was true or not, nobody was certain, it wasn't as if Shadow gave much of a damn what anybody thought.

After the bartender set his drink down, and took Shadow's payment for the drink, Shadow took the bottle and downed some shots of it. Not much was known about this man. He was always seen to be wearing nothing but black attire. His head and face, shrouded in black cloth, only revealing his eyes, would never be seen to linger upon a person for more than a few minutes. Shadow would only gaze at someone to physically identify who they were, and if they were of any importance or had a purpose to speak with him, then he would be at more attention. This, however, was not always the case. Sometimes he wouldn't even look at you much, even if you spoke to the man.

Who knows what emotions or thoughts lie within this man? The outer shell that is present to the world, is a shell of ominous apathy. He goes by the name of Shadow. And introductions aren't his strong suit.

that was a nice description hiroshino, i think that is like shadow really is

Cloud Strife 12-11-2004 06:37 PM

Ignoring the upstart young man on the other side of Tifa, Cloud looked to her.

"Sorry I'm late, Barret needed to talk with me about something. You haven't been here too long, have you?" he asks, ordering a drink from the bartender.

Edgar notices Shadow's entrance with some surprise. How had he gotten here? He was reluctant to go over and ask. Despite that the ninja had eventually joined them in their fight against Kefka, he still had never really opened up to anyone. Well, maybe Relm...there was something there...

And since their narrow defeat of that insane clown, Shadow had just left without another word. So just how exactly had the loner made it between the two worlds? Edgar had thought his people were the only ones who knew of its existense... let alone how to create a bridge...

Edgar was just about to get over his uneasiness and approach the ninja, when Kel burst into the room.

He shook his head in annoyance as the young soldier made his way over. This had better be an emergency! They were supposed to be keeping a low profile. The last thing they needed was this world's authorities aware of them.

"Your Ma- um, uh Gerad." Edgar let it pass since even though Kel was clearly agitated he still managed to catch it. "Um..Blare requests your presence immediately. Something's wrong."

Edgar quickly scanned the room. Most weren't paying attention but some patrons were...

"Alright. Come on. Did she give you any details?" he asked quietly as he strode out of the bar.

The young soldier lowered his voice as well, "I don't know. Something about ir- um irregularities in the...the wave for-"

The rest was lost as the door closed behind the two.

Okay, I'm just messing around but if anyone wants to roleplay something more ambitious than sitting around a bar just follow Edgar (don't let him see you follow him). There will be action. Just free-form though.

Oh and I figure we're in the world of FF VII from Cloud and Tifa's comments.

Foamy 12-13-2004 08:56 AM

"I just got in a few minutes ago, Cloud." Tifa watched as the man who had been hitting on her walked towards another man that seemed to be a shroud of black. "Hey, Cloud, what do you think their up to?"

As Edgar stepped over to the chocobos hitched nearby, his eyes traveled over Port Junon. The place was goldmine of technology that no one in particular seemed to be using. With an airport, a ShinRa facility, and an underwater reactor (and the submersibles that go with it!) Edgar had been chomping at the bit to get a look at some of their machinery. He'd been completely surprised to find that except for the airport, they'd all been pretty much abandoned by the new government.

His chocobo, Blinx, squawked at him as he approached. He grinned and made soothing noises as he untied the great beast. Swinging up into the saddle, he made sure his diamond shield and lance were secure in their straps beneath each of Blinx's wings. Edgar's pack chocobo, carrying all his tools in several very heavy boxes, moved in position behind Blinx as he was trained.

Seeing Kel was mounted, Edgar gave a "Hyahh!" and the chocobos were off sprinting through the town before settling into a slower pace they could maintain. Edgar grimaced, he hadn't even gotten a chance to ask about why no one was using the Port Junon facilities. Of course, if he hadn't been wasting his time hitting on that girl...
