I agree, and since Cloud's character has such a potential for godmoddiness...yeah, I agree.

Powers should be based on that character's personality. For instance (Cloud, I hope you don't mind if I use you in this)

Cloud Strife is primarily a strength-based warrior (hence the big-ass greatsword), with some materia-based spellcasting ability (primary melee, small amount of spellcasting)

Yuffie is a materia-thieving ninja, so she would have ninja powers and abilities.

Palom is a physically unimpressive, but highly intelligent, Black Mage. All of his powers and abilities would be in Black Magic, and possibly Summoning.

Cecil (not in the RP, but just for the sake of example) is a paladin. He's primarily a melee character, much like Cloud, but his spellcasting abilities are just low-level White Magic.

what about vincent? hes high powered range...until he transforms...then hes super high powered melee....

Well then Mori, thats how you'd play him. Pretty simple really.

I think I'm gunna go with a Kihmari. A blue magic-esque Dragoon.

Special Attacks: I'll just take the boomerang one, cause Ars Arcanum is godmoddy when done right, and useless when done wrong. Either way, not fun.

ah, I was sorta figuring that people would realise that mickey was disney and sora was squaresoft, but i can definitely imagine someone doing that. So, as a contingency plan for when flare tells me no, I am calling Tidus.

Can I be Rufus turned good from a near-death experience. (Say... he recovered in secret so Avalanch wouldn't get after him.) He's not overly powerful. And he won't have ShinRa behind him either because ShinRa's dead.
