It is the year 2511 A.D. by the human reconing. Many species coexist in this universe. Welcome to the Elysium, a scavenger ship. With the War between the Rebel Republic and the Terran Federation heating up. A crew of scavengers can make quite a killing. While Society looks at scavengers at being little better than piracy, it is a highly profitable venture. It’s also on of the only true places for freedom in the universe, since scavengers are beneath notice. There is no captain since the ship is a total democracy. All the people share the profits equally, all alone in the eternal night of space.

Our ship
Modified CTPD-33 The Elysium
The Elysium like most scavenger ships is highly modified. The centipede type deep space salvage rig is modified with expanded cargo bays. 4 gun turrets (each with 4 pulse lasers), A docking bay has been added replacing the rigs original cargo bay (see below).
A Shylock artifical gravity unit has been added and the spin grav unit has been replaced with a hyperspace core. The jump drives are currently down however. The ship resembles a massive tad pole with mechanical grappling legs folded up along the tail.

2 x SF – 35 Stingray Fighter
A bit antiquated and currently only military employing these fighters are the Rebel Republic. The ship is triangular in shape and is designed for both vtol in atmosphere and space combat and maintaining a minimum radar profile. They have a single missile launcher located beneath the canopy and two forward fixed lasers located under the wings.

3 x Deep Space Salvage and Maintenance Mechanoids “Turtles”
Turtle are Telesman in design. They resemble a squat humanoid with a sloped cross on their back, the cross is why the mechs are called turtles. The cross is really a tool storage unit and is capable of rotating. It is also used for navigation in deep space. The legs are grappling units and are used for carrying The arms are where the the tools attach. The tool unit opens and places the arm attachments over head for easy access.

Main factions.

Terran Federation (Feddie)– A large sphere of worlds held by The Confederation military. The military is brutally repressive, and keeps order with an iron fist. It wasn’t always this way. 50 years ago the Confederation was a thriving democracy and had just made first contact with the Shylock Republic, their closest neighbor. Then came the Tulwar. The Tulwar devasted Federation causing chaos. Their invasion struck for Earth. The military had staged a coup and was accepted massing their entire force. At the Battle of Mars They turned back the tulwar. The military regime began an aggressive retaking of lost space and began what many called an insane build up of ships. The Federation navy is one of the strongest military forces in known space. It’s been a fast learning curve for the once primitive, by galactic standards, nation.

Appearance: Reedy humanoids with fine black feathers. Their heads resemble over sized crows. Commonly called crows.
Average size: 4-5 feet, 50-100 pounds
Notable traits: They are naturals for flying in atmosphere and space.

Rebel Republic – A ring of worlds that once made up the outer rim of the Federation space. Bitter over their abandonment during the Tulwar wars and the repression that followed The rebels declared their independence from the brutal military dictatorship. They keep the spirit of what once was great about the Terran Federation.

Rudati
Appearance: Humanoids with tan colored skin and no body hair. Their skin is covered in very small fine scales. Often they wear very concealing clothes. Commonly called sand people.

Notable traits: The Rudati live in hot, and harsh deserts which is good since the Rudati are cold blooded. They can go into a death like hibernation if need be.

Tadde
Appearance: Short and broad. Toadlike humanoids with long powerful legs. The Tadde are most graceful in water. Commonly called toads.
Average size: 4-5 feet, 100-200 pounds
Notable traits: The ability to swim deeper and faster than other species as well as having a very good jump.

Tulwar Horde – A warrior race from a destroyed star. The Tulwar live in nomadic fleets that move from system to system. The raid what they can and move on. They avoid overpowering enemies and strike weaker targets. The largest of the roving Tulwar fleets was destroyed in the Battle of Mars.

Appearance: Tall mammals, very muscular, Their dress is an amalgam of alien fashions, and fabrics they make. The woman are about the same size as the men and are distinguished by the fact they lack horns like their male counter parts. Their skin colors are varying shades of earth tones. Commonly called demons.
Average size: between 6’ – 8’ feet tall. And 200-400 pounds
Notable traits: Stronger than most races in terms of physical strength. A very proud people. They brand them selves with a single diaganal strip on their bicep for every kill.
Home world: destroyed. Almost all are born in space.

Shylock Republic – The merchant empire where money is king. The Shylock will sell you almost anything if you have the money. The Republic are made up of many worlds and has a very peaceful existence.

Appearance: The shy lock are rodent like in appearance. Resembling anthropomorphic rats. Their fur colors are very varied and often the shylock dye their fur as a sign of status. Commonly called Rat men.

Notable traits: Good eyes for seeing in the dark and an excellent nose.

Pad Zahr
Appearance: A multi colored species, very human in appearance save for the head, which is dominated by saggy flaps. They have folding fangs which they can spit poison from.
Average size: 5-6 feet and 100-200 pounds
Notable traits: Venom.
Home world: Zarrha

Moneta
Appearance: An unusual species resembling insects. They posess mantis like claws on their upper appendages. They then have smaller set of arms that have a three fingered hand. Then come their legs. Their head resembles the head of a locust. On their back are vestigial wings they use to produce a mating song.
Average size: 6-8 feet and 100-200 pounds
Notable traits: They don’t have very good long distance eyesight. They are known as excellent negotiators though.

Urmom
Appearance: Pink skinned humanoids, with purple eyes, black hair, and pointy ears
Average size: 5-6 feet and 80-175 pounds
Notable traits: none really.

Telesma Alliance – The Telesma alliance is a league of former slave worlds of the Kuga empire. Brutally repressed for generations the slave world recolted and have successfully fought off the Kuga. They thank the Tulwar fleet destroyed in the Battle of Mars, for their freedom. The Kuga had deflected the fleet in the direction of earth and while they were distracted the Telesma

Appearance: A species of warm blooded lizard. They have 6 legs each with a hand, with a prehensile thumb, they also have a prehensile tail. They are various shades of green. Commonly called Newts.

Notable traits: A long sticky tong for eating insects. They are also very religious. They also viciously hate Kug’ans

Hmmroo
Appearance: The Hmmroo are a species of intelligent plants. In their youthful stage they appear as grenn skinned hairless humans covered in scale like leaves. They typically wear little to no clothing. As they grow older they plant themselves and grow stiffer. Until they finally become adults and grow into tall and powerful trees.
Average size: 5-6 feet and 100-200 pounds
Notable traits: Plant like regeneration from wounds. Also they make living ships.
Home world: Zarrha

Kuga Empire – A brutal and repressive empire. The Kug’ans think they are the pinnacle of eveolution. This greatly influences their policy. They constantly are trying to expand their territory and expand their wealth and influence. Their empire is in decline after a costly war with the SMG.

Appearance: Saurians. They resemble a humanoid t-rex. When they are young they have bright pink feathers that they molt for dark blue gray scales upon reaching adult hood.
Average size: 5-7 feet, and 150-250 pounds. The tend to show off their status by wearing gaudy jewels and garish robes.
Notable traits: While not as strong as a Tulwar, they are very strong, and their powerful jaws could easily bite off a limb.

Shylock Mercenary Guild – The SMG are the military of the Shylock Republic, if you could call them that. Like everything in the Shylock Republic. Even the military is for sale.

Assassins Guild – A secretive order. No one knows their origin save for the hierarchy of the guild, wherever they are. The most respected rumors are they were once part of the mercenary guild but split off and branched into organized crime, another has them as being the advanced scouts of species x.

Celestials
Appearance: Like the Hmmroo, the Celestials are really a species of plant, well very close. Unlike the Hmmroo they aren’t an adolescent stage. They age like humans. Their skin color varies depending on diet. On their head is a long hood like wing structure that extends fron the small of their back to their eye brows. The wings are really more like leaves. They are part of their digestive system. They are very slim and delicate in appearance, like a flower. Commonly called flower children.
Average size: 5-6 feet 60-100
Notable traits: They are obsessed with the stars, art, and dancing.
Home world: Celesta

Species X – A powerful xenophobic empire. No ship entering their space has ever come out again. Even the roving Tulwar fleets know enough to avoid this section of space. Rarely has one of their ships ventured outside of their space. No one knows much about them. Even their appearance. (No player characters from this faction)

Species: Telesman
Age: 95
Appearance: He is a 2’6” 200 pounds and very muscular for a telesman. He is a teal color with green markings under his nose and above his eyebrows. His eyes are amber in color. He wears a dirty jumpsuit he patched together when on duty. And ceremonial robes when off.
Skills: Religion, Telesman history, Telesman politic, Mechanics, Robotics, Computer diagnostics, Weapon repair, Hyperspace technology repair, turtle piloting, laser pistol shooting
Weapon: 4 sunbeam light laser blaster pistols. (modified)

Bio: Stk was born the eldest son to the High Priest Chtck Uungk. Stk as a youth of forty-three was one of the charismatic leaders of the rebellion from their Kugan oppressors. His father was the head of the Church of the Creator, of which Stk was only an initiate. His father, scared of reprisals, denounced the rebellion. Publically Stk had his father arrested as a traitor, his father was later executed for treason and herresy. While reveared at home as a patriot. He’s never recovered from his father’s death. While he disagreed with his father on many subjects he still loved him. He became a wanderer and picked up many useful skills while traveling the stars.
Extra: Stk is a priest in the Telesman Church of the Creator.

Name: Pois (nick name, actually has surpresed the memory of his real name)
Job: Doctor/bio chemist
Species: Human
Appearance: Albino. His hair and body is white, his eyes red from the blood showing through. Becouse of his extreamly sensative skin he wears a mask that looks like a gas mask of WW1, the rest of his body is in a plastic like suit. Even though simple clothes an a hood or mask would do he is very esentric.
Age: 27
Skills: Surgury. Medicine. Basic poisions. Basic poisin antidots. Advanced poisins. Advanced poision adtidote. Bio Chemistry. Advanced Virual biolagy.
Weapon: Poisions and not very good gas bombs. But he is a doc, he cant really fight
Armor: Plastic air/light tight suit and gas mask
Other Items: Diffrent medical supplys. Diffrent powerd microscopes. Large collection of poisions and viruses.
Bio: Born in a Terren colony he was looked as a freak by most of his family. The only one who could stand to be with him was his uncle, a ex solider who was discharged for being mentally unstable. He tought pois about poisions and dieses and made pois as obssesed with it as he was with them. Pois then enterd medical school, though he could not go to any one with reall credits cause how he looked. He tried to join the army as a battlefiel medic but they would not let a "freak" in. The reall reason he became a scavanger was so he could study poisions and new Virual strands in peace from the regulations of the goverment. he reall isnt interested in the money besides to buy his ingrediants. He is not socible or nice to be around, and spends most of his time with poisons and the such, but he is a very good docter

Name: Jake
Job: Combat support/that guy you want watching your back during brawls.
Species: Modified Rudati.
Appearance: He's talls, extremely (note extremely) buffed out. Completely bald as expected, and he usually wears muscle shirts and jeans. On his right shoulder, on his back, a serial number is branded.
Age: 25
Skills: Demolitions, Pistol firing, Rifle firing, Unarmed combat, long-distance running, weight lifting, heavy weaponry operations
Weapon: Jake's got a few he bounces between. His favorite is an FR-21300 assault rifle that uses old school metal rounds, but has a high rate of fire and a big magazine. Recoils like a bitch though. He's also been fond of any automatic pistols he can get, but when needs demand it he's willing to take a modified automatic laser rifle. His modification increases the stopping power but lowers the capacity.
Armor: A dark blue armor suit he calls Mjolnir armor. It offers energy shields, completely encloses him, it extremely durable, can be used against vaccuum and with a heater to surive space, and gives him a HUD. However, the down sides are that it limits his peripheral vision, slows him down a bit, and it builds up heat, as it has no actual cooling system.
Bio: Jake is an experiment that was used on different species to try to develop a veritable super soldier. It worked partly, but failed partly. It worked in that he develops muscles extremely quickly, needs to do very little to maintain them, and has increased stamina, durability, and metabolism. The downsides however are that he gets headaches, periodically has seizures, eats a LOT, and he has a conscience. As all of these were weighed in, he was dispatched with a commando unit to kill a Tulwar leader. But there was no extraction. However, he did manage to survive, and simontaneously allow the Elysium to launch. As such, he's been allowed to stay there since.
Extra: This is the guy that gets sent into a ship first. This is because there are sometimes things on there, but they aren't very friendly. His job is to make sure a ship is clear, find any survivors, and if neccesary, forcefully clear the ship. His biggest weakness is that he regularily needs to take medication to stop his seizures. These are little ones either. They are half an hour straight of non-stop thrashing.
