Which Videogame should I get?
Dearest NPFers, I ask for your advice. See, my father has gone to Miami to meet with some relatives who happened to be there. He has, however, little ready cash, and we don't use credit cards (damn interest rates) so, his purchases are limited. However, he has promised to bring back SOMETHING (aside from the numerous Filipines t-shirts that the realitives (who live in the Filipines) have brought for me) and I have decided to ask for a video game. However, the world seems to be plotting against me, since there are too many good releases out there. I own a PC (DUH!) an X-Box, and a PS2. So I'm broken between Halo 2, GTA: San Andreas, and Half-Life 2 (with Half-Life Source and CS Source, hopefully) Other noteworthy games are: Katamary Damacy (cheap, and good), Rome Total War, and Burnout 3 (X-box). These all go as second-rate, however, and no not take priority. I'd get WoW, but I doubt that my father will be gone that long. So, I ask for your advice, which video game should I get!?
P.S. if you have other suggestions, feel free. And, on a side note, I am already planning to ask my father to get Nuklear Age, so don't suggest that. Thank you all. |
If he's there for another week, get Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
If not, Halo 2 is good. |
If you had an N64, I'd suggest conker's bad fur day. But, somehow, I don't think your dad would like that very much...yeah...
In this situation, I'd definently recomend Rome: Total War. This game is a great blend of an action/strategy game (And its historically acurate, cause I know that's exactly what you care most about). |
Flip a coin for Halo 2 or San Andreas. Either one are good with Burnout 3 being a tie for second of these top tier games.

I say go with the one that you can have the most fun with, let me explain.
Halo 2 is tons of fun with several people and has coopertive play also for campaign. I dont know how good HL2 is going to be single or multi but it still sounds good. San Andreas sounds good for 1-2 people if you like that sort of game. So I guess for me its Halo 2 but for the others I would go with the one I can have fun with my friends. |
instead of Rome Total War for a strategy game Id suggest Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War, but thats if you like strategy, halo 2 if you like multiplayer madnass, and Gta: san andreas if you like to play alone (or are forced to alot, halo 2 isnt that fun with 1 person) but overall Id probably prefer Warhammer 40k

I suggest WWE: Raw vs Smackdown!. Yes it's a WWE game, but you can create characters in it and give them wikid cool moves. In my game for Gamecube, I've made BM, RM, Fighter, myself, Queen Qeeko, Dragonsbane, Thaumaturge and Cheshire Thief.

Half-Life 2. How can you even suggest anything else?
|
Halo 2. I don't have an Xbox, but it still looks like the best of those.
|
well if you dont like games that are low quality (i dont like Halo, HL, or GTA) it depends what you like. PC get Rome:total war, or guildwars(free mmorpg goodness), or the old and still great Civ games (personally Civ 2 is best game ever made) age of empires and starcraft are also still a blast. PS2, i dont know really hear, I have a Cube(cause nintendo kicks ass, ps2 dosnt touch it) but the game i do have is dot hack, eh dont listen to me. And xbox has all crap so pawn it and get some good pc games.
Yeah just ignore me, im not into canned M rated shooters (halo2 most generic story line EVER) |
