Kill-Team: Training Grounds.

Bareesh Mecklan was ready to kill something. First, his boss had dragged him out into this god-forsaken jungle, then told him to help make a god-forsaken factory into a god-forsaken compound, and THEN stuck him out in the damn jungle to watch out for people.

He slammed his gun on the ground as a fly bit him and yelled, "I'VE HAD FUCKING ENOUGH!" Then a pair of hands grabbed his head, and he felt a jolting pain in his neck before complete darkness.

Shade dropped the body, and slid silently forward. He crouched low, and looked over the compound. Quickly made concrete wall, 13 feet high. Guards walking along it, guns not loaded, angry, depressed, tired. Childsplay.

He tapped on his headset and whispered, "Shade is good to go on the north. I've got Shad with me. How are all the other pairs holding up?"

Whispered confirmations of being in position came through. "Right, so one more time. I get Shad in to blow their comps open, then have Shad get me into the main pump room, leave the doors open, and go and try to drive to guards towards the jungle? And you guys are all doing other stuff as well? We're being payed how much?"

A quick reply silenced him. He turned to Shad, pointed at the door ahead, and gave the finger signal for "go to the left."

OOC: Everyone else figure out what your individual assignments are.

Shad rolled her eyes and looked ahead. Seriously, even for terrorists, this was pretty low quality. From what she could see, the door was coded, but that was hardly an incredible challenge. And then they'd let the jungle grow almost right up to the wall, providing excellent cover from the patrollers on the wall. And by the time you ran out of cover, you were pretty much safe anyways, since the wall-top guards never looked straight down.

She caught Shade's signal to go left, and complied, low-crawling her way through the bushes and foliage, stopping frequently to check for reaction from the guards, until she was almost at the edge of the cover near the door. Pausing momentarily, she signaled to her partner to remain under cover while she dealt with the door.

Timing her movement for when the walltop guards closest to her were both furthest away and not looking in her direction, she sprinted silently to the door and pressed herself against the wall, knowing that unless the guards looked straight down they would not be able to see her, and even if they did they might dismiss her as a shadow in her gear.

She carefully examined the keyplate, and pulled out a screwdriver. As far as she could tell, they hadn't alarmed the plate itself, only the door. She pryed the plate off front, and then attached one of her gadgets to the wires inside. Hitting a few buttons, she began the process of decoding the keyplate. There were, after all, only 10 000 possible combinations to check.

"Da Shade. Driver Team is ready for go." Crouching in the thick underbrush of the jungle, Arkedeslov contemplated the task ahead of him. After the South Team gets into the main compound and sets the explosives, the whole squad is gonna need to get out. Fast.

No more long marches out of enemy territory. No repeates of Afganistan.

It was a simple task, well within Arkedeslov's abilities. But there was a little patch of open ground between the thicket that Arkady and Wolf crouched in and the the entrance to the compound. about 10 meeters of very open, very well illuminated land with no coverage.

Taping his headset, Arkady swallowed his nervousness and whispered. "Comrade Moriaki, I do hope you're doing somethink about those lights, yes?"

[OOC: I assume that we're doing this at night, yes?]

OOC: gee, i hope so.

Tor 12-10-2003 02:12 AM

Tappes his head set...
"Where being paid way to litle my friend" he whispers into his com unit. "Are you ready Brad?" his voice was as shaky as an oak leaf but other than that he seemed fine. "Soo what are we going to do... we need to get inside there"

Dante 12-10-2003 03:53 AM

"Are you ready Brad?" he said, voice trembling like an oak leaf in a spring wind. "So what are we going to do... we need to get inside there..."

Doc noted the quavering in Tor's voice, and made a mental note to talk to him about it after the mission. Not that he really blamed the Norwegian, though... this was probably his first time in a jungle setting, and anyone could get nervous on a mission, even one as simple as this. Though seemingly cut-and-dried, one never knew if Fortune would smile on you or bite you in the ass...

But that was enough psychobabble. The wall still loomed in front of them, and there was the matter of guards patrolling the top. Fortunately, they didn't seem to be carrying any radios, so it would take a lot longer before their absence was noticed. The lack of radios also meant that they had less thinking to do, and that translated into decreased awareness and increased vulnerability.

Should have gotten some dogs, you idiots... and installed better lighting...

He turned to Tor and whispered to him, "We're going to scale the wall. We'll wait until we're in the blind spots of the sentries, then we get to the wall and you boost me up. Once I'm up, I'll secure a rope for you to climb. We get to the other side of the wall, then hide right underneath the spotlight and wait for further instructions. Is that too complicated for you?"

Tor looked strangely at Brad "Hey I've done this before, you know that I was a scout right?" He shook his head and started to crawl towards the wall avoiding the lights and looking for patroling guards

Kalland checked the breacher on his G36K. He didn't want the thing to lock up on him should things get messy. He didn't really appreciate Arkady's remarks on the way here neither did he appreciate the pilot's flying.
Kalland looked at the wall then at Tor "ease up man this should be a cake walk, right Doc?" He had only known these people for about an hour including the briefing where no-one did any talking apart from the man in charge. Still he felt that same duty to his teamates as he did back as a member of SOCOM. Kalland looked at the wall and shook his head man they shoulda put some razor wire up. It seems as though there being too lazy Kalland checked his NVGs before indicating he was ready to go.

The warm touch of the wind, the gentle swaying of shadowy leaves, the sounds of twilight insects, the starfilled sky above, this truly was Henna's home. She sat quietly amongst a nest of moss in the middle of a tall tree barely visible in her black and green bush hat observing the situation below. She was the only squad member with out a buddy, it only made sense this way. Besides, what would the second person do? They would serve the team much better down in the fray. From her perch she had the perfect view of the compound below, the night vidion from her scope glaring green in her eye. Her tac com crackled to life, Comrade Moriaki, I do hope you're doing somethink about those lights, yes?"

"Well chief, from here I see about fifteen sentrys on the walls and inside the compound. I am pretty sure there are more, I'm not sure they would think it keen of me to shoot thier lights. It would sure as hell let them know we are here. I think your better off just avoiding them for now, if push comes to shove I can hit them later. I've got a good view of the entire compound from here so and I am staring at fifteen potential corpses, just give the order."

It was true, no challenge here. with reloading she could drop all of them in under a minute.

o.c.c. Who is command of this outfit by the by?

Arkedeslov bit his lip as he concidered this. He'd just have to deal with the open ground. Great. Doing a final check of his equipment, Arkady turns to his partner.

"Sorry Wolf, but you will just have to deal with the open ground, yes?"
