Zelda + Xbox = Face cancer
 

I've yet to confirm it for myself, but I've been told by several people now that the new Zelda game slated to come out next year has been switched to run on the Xbox. Normally, I would be amazed and go "That's t3h sweet! Link kicks so much ass now, the Gamecube can't handle him!"
But this is not normal. For out of the 3 next-gen consoles, I have the two that are NOT the Xbox. Naturally, this gives me face cancer. I needs my hot Zelda gaming action. But if it really is for Xbox, then I won't have it. ;_;

Please, say it ain't so Miyamoto-san, say it ain't so!

But, doesn't Miyamoto-san have, like, a contract or something with nintendo (I'm don't exactly keep up on the news of this guy.) But, maybe they don't have contracts in Japan, I don't know how the legal system works over there.

Zelda is not coming out on Xbox, who ever told you that, is well dead wrong. The new games are all nintendo only since nintendo owns the right to all the carictures. So link will be staying where he should on the supirior Gamecube, and will not be degraded by showing up on the xbox. so once again, Zelda+Xbox=not going to happen

It's obviously a flat-faced lie, and what a whopper it is. Zelda and all trademarked characters associated with the games are owned by Nintendo, and it will be years and years, possibly never, before any Zelda game will appear legally on any non-nintendo console.

Well of course, unless Nintendo goes the way of Sega. But that's a completely unrelated matter, don't get into it.

With the money nintendo makes from handhelds, they will never go the way of sega. Link, Mario, DK, any of the trademarked nintendo-owned characters will appear on another system over Miyamoto's cold dead japanese body. (Single game licenses notwithstanding.)

They probably thought Link was going to X-box due to the X-box like graphics on the E3 Zelda trailer. So. Pretty. Must. Ride. Horsey. Kill. Pretty. Stalfos!

Uh...whoever said that is obviously lacking in ANY knowledge of the gaming market. And obviously, some hopeful XBOX obsessed are probably latching onto the rumor to go OMG ZELDA IS FINALLY NOT ON GAY CUBE!!!!11."

I can guarantee you 100% without question that Zelda is never going to be featured on a non-Nintendo system without the explicit concent of Nintendo. And since Microsoft is their #2 biggest competitor...it ain't happening.

To further prove such is the case, I offer 3 points:

1) A GC Zelda was already announced last May to have said 'amazing graphics' seen in 2001 E3. It was THE big announcement next to the DS for the whole show. In other words, those 'real' graphics were heard by the people at Nintendo and they are as we speak making this game using, as Miyamoto stated, 'The real looking graphics of our 2001 E3 Demo'. But even with this announcement and such a change from Wind Waker, the game is still said to be using the game engine of Wind Waker, just with a graphical overhaul. And yes, the game also features Adult Link.
2) No place such as IGN or any Zelda sites I look at are hinting at such a rumor...and rumor or no, those places would definitly MENTION it. Since a Zelda going to PS2 or XBOX would be the biggest news in Console gaming in the last 10 years no doubt, bigger than FF going to PSX back in the day and etc.
3) Zelda is not owned soley by Miyamoto. He designed it and has basically total control over its conception and ongoing development, but Nintendo itself owns the rights to the Franchise. But since Miyamoto owns a large collection of Nintendo itself, its the same as him owning Zelda as well as the rest of what he's created. And Miyamoto would never make a mistake like allowing his #1 selling franchise (as Zelda has been, not Mario) onto another system (except the Panasonic ones he did for unknown reasons).

So, whoever you heard this from.....they are really messed up in the head.

And don't you worry. All images you see here, knowing Nintendos past history, will look 5-50 times better than they already do once the game is finished. This is based off of the preview pictures of games such as Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime and Wind Waker. Trust me, this game will be a graphical showcase. They even admitted when they showed this trailer that they put it together quickly for E3, so if they already look THIS wow and the trailer was put together quickly just to have a 1 minute shocker at the end of a DS preview session...the end product I gather is going to be slap you in the face spectacular.

By the way....if you don't think the GC can do justice for Zelda on the graphical scale, you are sorely mistaken. Wind Waker, Metroid Prime and some other games I believe have already shown the GC is a powerhouse for graphical ability and it can do graphics quite on par (and in my mind pretty much better than) almost all XBOX games. But reguardless to any ideas you may come up with for any kind of graphical lacking on the GC, Nintendo would still never put one of their games, especially Zelda, because they felt their system lacked the graphical power to do it justice. They develop their own system and therefore they know what it can do. And it has always been their policy to put certain things ahead of graphics, therefore even if their system was second, or even third in graphical ability, it would hardly matter ot them. They wouldn't go start making games on another system for it....they would simply make a Zelda game at the max capacity oftheir perticular systems graphical abilities and fill the rest with all their other amazing things. Such as Zeldas level design and ongoing story or Metroids evolving combat setup and varrying worlds or Marios....well, everything.

That's the third time I've heard of that and, subsequently, the third time I simultaneously laugh my ass off about it and wish to know whoever brought that up in the first place. To laugh my ass off about him.

Even, If and it won't happen. The xbox loving xbox lovers wont purchase it, they made thier choice form the begginging buy going ot microsoft, and not choosing the much loved franchises, I own A gc, and ps2 (the new micro sized one had it for 3 days now love it its so tiny). they purchased the xbox because they like the "realistic games" ( I haven't seen one man kill 17 000 men with one bullet so far) and like all loyal xboxers the cg is for kiddies and thier kiddie games at least were i live anyway. It's logically a stupid change he has made so much money with the nintendo side, why would he change to a market that doesn't want a so called "kiddie game".

Actually, I would say that Zelda going to xbox would be a good thing... for microsoft... lets face it asice from FPS fans they have nothing to please people for their system... if they had Zelda a whole new group of people would go there

Believe it or not, the video card in the Gamecube is supposed to be better than the Xbox's video card, which while hard to believe its a very nice visual card (play Super Smash Bros Melee and zoom in on mario, they actually show the buttons and everything *even stitches on his clothing*) so this new zelda game isnt too shocking, yet so thrilling... 2005 is so far away *twitch*

A few games you will NEVER have to worry about being on the Xbox; Donkey Kong, Star Fox, Zelda, Mario, and Final Fantasy/subsidiaries. All of these games are made by companies who would never consider helping the black sheep of the gaming market, and while for a short time DK and Star Fox were made by rare the ONLY game that rare made without using copywrited characters was their Conker game, so we will have to see what they make now (Conker's Bad Fur Day isnt the greatest game ive ever played... sex drug and alchohol jokes can only take a game SO far...)
