Argoth watched as the stranger's sword came down scoring a deep slash in his chest plate Why did it always have to come to this? Argoth drew Argamemnon. As the sword touched his hands hundreds of runes scored into the blade lit up with a ruddy glow and his eyes liereally exploded into an inferno of spectral fire. "You have just made the biggest mistake of your life" with that he let out a gutteral growl and made a strike for the stranger's torso. He quickly parried but almost lost a hold of his sword under the force of Argoth's swing rolling left as Argoth brought his sword down again. Argoth wrenched his sword out of the ground and swung again, Argamemnon becoming lodged half way through a tree trunk. After trying to remove it Argoth realised the futility of it and turned around just fast enough to see the stranger trying to split his "head" open. He quickly raised his hands and caught the blade. The stranger struggled to remove it from his grasp. Argoth twisted the blade out of his hands and flung it over his shoulder. It was now a fist fight. Argoth reeled his fist back and swung but only succeeded in scraping a bit of skin away near the outside of the strangers right eye. The stranger staggered back before sending out a kick to Arghoth's left knee. Argoth knee jerked back and he dropped to the floor. In the time that he had the stranger relocated his sword and pointed it at Argoth's face. Argoth in the meantime had readied a sphere of magical fire and was ready to let it loose. The stranger looked down at the sphere of fire in Argoth's hand " I now see the futility of this situation" Argoth shruged "as do I."
The stranger looked around. "hmm they wern't exactly watching" a sly grin cracked across his face "so I could just SAY I killed you" Argoth shook his head " you could but they would require evidence" Argoth thinks for a moment "wait here" he runs into the forest and comes bach with a helmet idendical to his except for a large hole that a sword had made half a century earlier. "take this. It should work as an acceptable ruse" The sstranger looks at him "and if it doesn't?" Argoth clenches a fist and opens it a small pouch containing Diamonds, rubys and several other precious gems. "then this should cover the cost." |
Lia smiled and started to explain for the man, "Well this man is a tour guide as well as a body guard." She thought a moment, <Would that make him a body guide? A tour guard?> "So I would figure he is a mercinary of some sort. He was just talking about showing me around town. I am rather new here...." She started to muse.
"Well then, little mother, I should accompany you."
Kilik pushed himself inbetween the girl and the scammer, forcing him away. "I'll come too... I'm also a body gaurd and a tour guide..."
"Wow, another body guard and tour guide, that must be a new profession I haven't heard about. But do I really need two tour guides and a holy knight just to tour the town?" She thought for a moment, "But I guess the more, the merrier, right sir?" She smiled at the first tour guide.
"I'm more of an honor guard, little mother." Azrael replied.
Suddenly Ash's head apared between them: "Could you three tour us two to?" She asked and pointed with her empty hand at Calie: "I'm sure you could suport touring us. One guide for each of us, perhaps:-)!"
"But of course dear lady. I'm certain that this...erm... gentalman will serve you quite well. Now, where are we staying?"
Rath bowed his deepest coutrly bow. |
"Well, what kind of inns are in this town?" Lia asked Rath, "I haven't made any reservations yet."
(OOC: just out of curiousity, is the name "Rath" from dragon knights? I love that manga and I was just curious.) |
Hearing the word "Inn" He opened his eyes and looked towards the group that had moved towards the door. I haven't slept in a bed for some time now. This is the best time... not to mention, I think it might be nice to see around town. Looking around, Anzai noticed that his companion had left him. Taking a quick look around him he saw that she had mixed up with the group. For someone as shy as her, he she likes to jump into things Walking up and melting into the group he look for one of the guides. Reaching in for a shoulder, "I would also like to see the town. All I need is a guide to the inn. May I accompany you?"
"I allready have an inn. The classiest I could find. I have a swiit, so up to two people can live in my room. By the way, let me introduce myself to you, I'm Ash.... Dang! I forgot my name. Call me Ash!" Ash said giving a big bright smile.
Calie felt decidedly uncomfortable around so many people, so she kept her head down and said nothing as she followed the group.
"Calie, by looking at you I would say your either scared or glum. I know people are scary, but these should not do anything bad. Don't worry." Ash said to Calie in a calming voice.
Despite Ash's reassurance, Calie still didn't feel better about the situation. "Let's just be on our way. But I'm kind of hungry, does anybody know where we can get something to eat?" she asked the group.
"Well, I don't know very well. My inn seemed to have a quite nice restoraunt underneeth it. Maybe you would like it there. It might be expansive though. By the way Calie, are you wisiting or staying? Im on the Grand Tour - that means, that I visit important cities andplaces, to get smarter. Why are you here? I know your new here!"
"I've been drawn here from the wilderness. There is something evil growing, and the means to destroy it is somewhere in this place" she replied. The longer she stayed around them, Calie felt herself quickly growing at ease with these people and with new found courage she asked the group, "If anybody is as hungry as I am, what say we head to Ash's inn? There we can eat and become better aquainted. What say you?"
"I will second the girl's request. I think that would be the wisest choice of action. If what she says is true, maybe we will be able to pool out strength together to fight this new-found evil. Who knows? Maybe it was fate that brought us here together."

Argoth could wait no longer. He had to pay his respects to Aphrael or he feared his soul would be damned. He sheathed Agamemnon and made a beeline for the cathedral in the middle of town. as he was running he spyed a group of people in his path. He drew Argamemnon and used it to pole-vault over them. He landed with a metalic thump and kept running. He reached the cathedral doors and rushed in and knelt at the alter. where he prayed for quite some time. Meanwhile Abriel wandered through a curtain to the side if the alter to see where all the noise was coming from. He saw Argoth praying. The dark knight's armour bathed in moonlight from the window above the alter. "It is nice to see one who is so dedicated to his god. Though the gate guards are getting slightly irritated by your presence" Argoth had now finished praying "hmph. They no not the meaning of tolerance" he said as he stood up. Abriel continued "they have asked me to not let you pray here anymore." Argoth's eyes narrowed "I must pray lest my soul be damned to hell they do not understand the importance of this" Abriel nodded "I know but they were rather forceful the last time they spoke with me. They still believe you are a maelevolant being" Argoth sighed "so you are asking me never to return here as well. After all I have done for the people of this town, saving them from the thieves that live in the woods they still feel I am a menace" Abriel "yes people still cling to old beliefs. There is something I can do for you." Abriel walks through the curtain and returns with a pendant of Aphrael and hands it to him " Take it. It will allow you to pray to Aphrael wherever you may wander." Argoth kneels and accepts the pendant "For three centuries the Priests have let me pray here but you have displayed a new level of acceptance to me. I thank you" Abriel smiled "May Aphrael watch over you Argoth" Argoth rises to his feet and exits the cathedral.

OOC: Paragraphs... Use paragraphs... And now I'm confused, who are you, Argoth or Abriel?
ooc: i thought we weren't using aphrael?
ic: "Oddly enough you may be right." Azrael said. |
ooc: *sigh* just dont make Aphrael a char. and i thought you couldnt use char's other people were using?
OOC:I was under the impression it was a god of some sort.
ooc: she is, but....bah...i don't think we need to be a stickler about the rules of different religions. If you're going to use Aphrael keep in mind she's a child-like goddess and works more out of love than dominion.
OOC: No more OOC'ing, OK?! I mean it! More playing!!
ooc: arlight then, i'll just push us along.
As they were walking to the inn Ash was staying, they became better aquainted and had volunteered for Azrael's cause when he explained it to them. When the group reached the inn Ash pointed out, they all clammered inside and took a large table near the back. As they all settled down everyone turned to Azrael and looked at him expectantly. ooc2: i know it sucks, but we arent getting anywhere really so its time to jump around a bit. |
