DS Vs. Xbox: Which would you get and why?
I ask this because I have to make this choice. So please help
PS so we are clear I have GBA, GC, and PS2 |
youre jokeing right xbox kills ds
|
Why are you comparing the DS to an X-Box? They aren't even both console systems.
Besides, May is on the X-Box. http://img51.exs.cx/img51/521/mayblock1.gif Edit: Oh I get it. Why would you not get an x-box if you could? Why on earth would anyone want what's going to amount to another GBA with gimick stylus games? |
XBox: It's been out longer, it has more games, etc.
DS: Well, everything we know about the DS. Conclusion: XBox. Simply put, there's a large quantity of games, and thus, there's more of a chance of getting a good game, and there's more good games. |
well one of the main reasons is that DS has more years on it. Xbox wont be there forever. Besides my GBA is abit messed up after my Nephew spilled juice on it
|
Buy another GBA if you want the DS and save yourself some money.

I'd go with an X-box right now there are just too many good games on it to pass up.
And no I'm not talking about Halo 2 or Halo, but rather the fact that KOTOR is only 19.99 and I was finally able to get it. Besides that its at its lowest price, and is only going to get lower. Get it now, and the DS after a few price drops. |
My friend asked me this question the other day, oddly enough. While i would certainly enjoy getting both, I have to say i'd prefer the DS over the Xbox. allow me to explain.
-In todays gaming world, most major titles are being produced cross-platforms. this is an amazing event, since this never used to happen in the days of Sega and Nintendo. so most games worth playing can be picked up for the PS2 or the Gamecube. -the games that arn't being released cross-platform (exclusive to Xbox) that i'd actualy want to play are few and far between. Seriously, i think Halo 2 is the only game i'd really wan't to pick up; i have Mech Assault, its called Mechwarrior 4: Mercinaries; Fable is really of no interest to me, if i want to play a good free-roaming rpg i'll go back and play Fallout or Baulder's Gate (or fuck, ill just play KOTOR for the PC again). -compair the point above to the DS. I KNOW i'll be getting Metroid Prime and Mario Kart and whatever new Advance Wars they make. not only that, but ill be able to play all my GBA games on it too (right?) thats already a larger library than what i have in mind for the xbox. -living in the city and not owning a car means i spend lots of time on the train. on average thats about two hours a day where i'm not doing anything. those two hours can be (and quite often are) spent playing a handheld. an xbox won't help me there. now certainly you might not be like me. you might spend more time at home, or there might be a lot more xbox games that you're interested in. this is just my take on it. |
Um...the question isn't exatly comparing two systems.
The XBOX is out and you can plainly see (or try) all of its avaliable games right now. You know what it does and you know what to expect from it. If it has a number of games you want, get it. In my case it only had 4 games I wanted, but I still did because they were important games. Just an example of how I guaged my perchase. DS is new with lots of possibilities, but the library is small at the moment and few people have tried it. If you are willing to think the library will grow and have games you want, and like all the already planned games in development, go for it. If you like what you see of XBOX right now...then buy it. If you like what you have heard or researched on the DS though...then get it. I don't think you're going to get an accurate answer by anyone here unless they 1) Own both systems and the majority of the games you want 2) Have the same tastes as you... And to answer some really....bad statements I have to say: Grthwllms: Obviously doesn't like the DS so I wouldn't take his advice... Mr. Wind Up Bird: Guilty Gear is also on the PS2 and Aerozord said he had a PS2. Also a new GG gameis being developed for the PS2 and many people say the PS2 controller is better for fighting than the XBOX (including me). People are different, but frankly speaking he can buy 2+ GG games on the PS2 right now without buying a whole new system...and in many peoples minds have a better controller to play it with. |
you see that is my problem. Do I gamble with the new system, or take the new one. Not to mention the fact my only hand held is in need of replacing. But at the same time there are a few game only X-box have.
