Alone in the Night: Chapter 2
 

Stk consolidated the power into one engine and had enough for a small jump he had no time to target a place.

"Oh Creator,whose voice I hear in the winds,and whose breath gives life to all the world - hear me. I come before you,one of your children.I am small and weak. I need your strength and wisdom. Let me walk in beauty and make my eyes ever behold the red and purple sunset. Make my hands respect the things you have made, my ears sharp to hear your voice. Make me wise, so that I may know the things you have taught my people,the lesson you have hidden in every leaf and rock. I seek strength not be superior to my brothers,but to be able to fight my greatest enemy, myself. Make me ever ready to come to you,with clean hands and straight eyes,so when life fades as a fading sunset, my spirit may come to you without shame."

"KARASU PUNCH IT!" The Tengu fired the jump engine. The power flared down as blinding white light infused the ship The ship shrank to a line of white light and disapeared. The ship appeared 4 light years away.

Several stingrays began to head to our position as a Rebel carrier hailed us. The rebel carrier was only a modified heavy carrier exchanging the cargo bays for fighter bays.

Jake's shoulders sagged in relief.

"Okay, that worked well."

He detached himself from the turret and dropped to the metal flooring with a thud. "Great. Med bay is in quarantine. Can anyone tell me why he's growing neuro-toxins and stuff like that?"

"I'm going to bed. Finally. The ship better be on fire if you wake me up." Stk made his way to his room.

Without wasting a moment Karasu deployed the secondary solar sails and began accumulating jump power again.

No way was he going to be caught with his pants down like just now.

His feet pounded a rapid tattoo on the flooring as he sweated it out, watching the sensor readouts for any unwanted new jumpgates that might be opening near them.

"Wee, its always a good day when we live." Sayre procalimed as he put his feet up. All things considered, it really wasn't so bad, except for this annoying beeping in his ear that wouldn't stop...and that flashing, the flashing had to stop too.

As he got up to get some medicine, he saw that his ailments were being caused by the console's communications device, apparently a "Whats up!" from another ship.

He sat down, no use making Kar even more freaked out, and pressed the button, brining up the comm-screen. "...Subject to Rebel docking, we repeat, what ship are you and state your purpose, or be subject to docking." Sayre sighed. Rebels were a relief, just lay on the Feddie induced sob story, sympathize...

"Oh, heya guys, this is the scavanger ship Elysium, we just escaped a Federal attack by a random warp jump. We're looking to merely sell our, eer, wares and be on our way. Are we welcomed?"

"You are cleared to dock with space station Epsilon Alpha Tau. The planet is under quarentine." the republic ship announced.

soon a second hail from the station orbiting the planet relayed docking info for the scavenger craft.

Jake was undergoing the task of removing his armor.

"Okay, does this ship have any hot-water still on board, because I really need a shower."

Pois looked around at the mist "this shouldnt take to long"
He started to go walk through the poision, since he lived in a suit with a gas mask he didnt need to worry about it, but since this was sick bay and not every one wore such, protection, he needed to get rid of it as soon as possible. He found what he was looking for rather fast "this wasnt as bad as i thought it would be"
He began to take out the air in the room and to dust it so that there wouldnt be any residue. He walked over to the comm to give a time estimat "the sick bay will be off limits for about an hour or two sorry for the trouble"
Now to try and make sure that nothing else broke

"Keep your clothes on Jake, we'll be in a station soon enough." The ratman announced over the intercom. Another beeping comm request had gone up, so he opened up the channel.

"This is the space station, we'll need to know some of the standard info before you can be let on, such as..." The other end said, but before he could list off the questions. Sayre cut in.

"We're flying a modified CTPD-33 with two Stingrays and three Turtles in stock, got a crew of 11, looking to repair, restock, sell, and clean up. Shouldn't be staying for more than a day, two days max." Sayre said, recounting his list of the pleasantries of docking.

"Well...sounds like you folks got it down...I'll just relay the specifics, shouldn't be too long." The station attendant said, either flustered or releieved. The shylock once again put his feet up, slicking his hair back.

Stk changed out of his work clothes and into a simple shirt. He put on a file of Telesman temple music from the ships database. The chanting and string instuments in praise of the creator lulled him into sleep.

His dreams were troubled. Black demons marked with an upside down U chased him every where. Flashes of all consuming black holes. He didn't know what to do or where to go, always chased.

He awoke with a start gasping for air. His scales dripped with sweat.

"Welcome to station Epsilon Alpha Tau" The station system said as the ship docked with the space station. "May your stay be a pleasant one."

The station like most deep space stations was a series of rotating drums on a docking spine. Inside were an atmosphere, oxygen and food farms, Water reclimation systems, markets, and most importantly a bar.
