Half Life 2 is seriously the best game ever made

It's probably the best game ever made for any system. I'm not exaggerating. It is, in a word, perfect. The physics are amazing, and actually an integral part of the game play, the level and art design is fantastic, character models are really well done, and the story is kind of interesting (If a bit underdeveloped). If you can run this game, I suggest you get it right away. For every cool moment where you say, "This can't get any better," the next part completely blows you away.

Plus you get to chop zombies in half with sawblades and that's always cool.

I havn't got this....Yet. I'm getting it for Christmas, So I think the coolness will be doubled. My PC is good enough to run it, But it will probably look like Halflife1. I cannot wait.

EDIT:Any news of a demo being released?

Even on the lowest settings it still is the best looking game I've ever seen.

Woe is me! Instead of going out and buying the retail, I decided to download it off of Steam. The internet here is so slow...it's taking so long!

61%! Soon the gloryness will be mine!

I didnt know it was out yet. Well it looks better the doom 3 or by far halo 2. And since it has counter strike source, it should be fun (counter strike was the 2nd best multiplayer fps for the pc, i liked unreal turnament more, but it was still great), greatest ever, probly not. best fps on the pc, or ever, thats more likely.
Well i wont ever own it. Since my computer is to weak to even play it on the lowest setting

I'm looking forward to it. If I don't break down and buy it early I'm gonna try to get it for christmas. I've seen my freinds play it though. The physics are really nice but I already have a complaint. You can't pick up bodies of enemies you've killed and throw em around with the grav gun. I can understand them not wanting you to pick up live baddies for the sake of gameplay, but there's no logical reason why you can pick up pre rendered corpses, but not ones that start out as active units. Oh well, guess I'll have to wait for HL3 for that.

You're right you can't...yet. :D

SPOILER: Near the end of the game you get a better Gravity Gun that works on damn near everything. It's stronger too!

Your right this is the best game ever
Ravenhome was so scarey, and everything it just so realistic, its awesome.

HL2 is awesome. Its keeping me occupied till i get World of Warcraft.
I like the game alot, although :spoilers: I don't really enjoy the Antlion squad. Maybe cause I'm stuck but so far I would rather work alone than with an infinite squad that follows me. I liked fighting the Antlions, too. That big Antlion sure did have a lot of pheropods, didn't it?

I like what the developers did with HL2. They scrapped the whole game and redid it when it looked like it wasn't going to be up to snuff. And even though they've been battling Vivendi Universal (the publisher of Half-Life), they still make Steam which is great for indie games.

I'm gonna get this as soon as I get a good paying job.
