RPG Combos and Side Quests (spoilers)
Do you know how when you are playing a great game and you discover something gread and you just need to tell someone about it? Do it here! Find a great item or attack combo? Or a new side quest? Share the welth and boost your ego! Here's mine. It's a combo from Final Fantasy VI. Here are all the necessary ingredients.
1. Ultima- If you don't want to wait for Terra to reach level 100, you can uncurse the Cursed Shield, which also teaches this spell. 2. Quick- The only way to get this spell is to turn Odin into Raiden. 3. Gem Box- Allows you to cast two spells in one turn. Absolutely necessary. 4. Economizer- All spells cost 1 MP. Not necessary, but helpful. Just equip the person who has Ultima and Quick with the Gem Box and Economizer relics. In battle, have that character use X-Magic and cast FIRST Ultima and then Quick. If you cast Quick first, it messes up the effect of the Gem Box for some reason. Then, on the next turn that you got from quick, cast Ultima twice and then again. Quick was meant to give you two moves, but it realy gives you three including the turn used to cast Quick. With the Gem Box, You can use a damage attack on the turn you use quick and then have two more turnes two double cast before the enemy can counter attack. Five Ultima's is enough to take out anything in the game as long as you have a Magic Power over 50 which is the minimum to deal max damage with the spell. And, it only takes six MP. |
In Final Fantasy 7 I have found a mega quick way to master even Knights of the Round. First get a few special weapons, Clouds apocalypse from the Ancient Forest in Cosmo, then get any other characters who have "triple" materia growth (shown on the equip screen above the availiable slots) and equip the rune bangles on all three for double growth or any other double/triple growth armors. Equip the materia you want to master in these slots and go into Sephiroth's crater. Go into the room with all the golden hay-like stuff and the green water. Search around until you fight little red materia like monsters called movers. They offer no exp but about 1200 AP each. With the weapons and armor equipped, you should master most any materia in only a few battles.

In Star Ocean 3 an easy way to level up is to go to the battle arena, get your bonus gage on to triple exp and fight the team called go go twin beast over and over, they are ranked 40 so they arent that hard, but give like the 4th highest amount of exp for some reason.
Ohhh ya in BOF 2 I think it is, you can build a town over time! I remember I thought that was really cool I like RPG's where you can put your money into big stuff, Azure dreams has that to if you talk to the right people you end up making tons of new stuff thats cool. |
That's in BoF 3 also, and maybe 4 though I don't remember offhand. Fairy towns. :3
They were a fun little mini-game if you ask me. |
Also in BoF: Dragon Quarter, I think. I love any city building part of a game, probably why I love Azure Dreams so much. Once you get the Casino you're all set for cash.

There was a thing that I found out in FF8. The part in Fishermans horizon where you are auditioning for the concert you can actually leave that place and play as Irvine for a little while. There is one part where you go into that junk shop and after the scene is played you get some rare ammo.
A glitch I found at that point is that when I played enough cardgames I talked to Jack as Irvine and he kept on calling me Squall! It was too damn funny! :P |
This is a glitch I found in GTA3. It's been a while since I played, so this isn't the best description in the world, but, here you go.
In the first city, take a car up to the top road (hopefully you all know what I mean by that, the road that you access the mafia base from). Then go into the thin alleyway near the bistro (the place where you blow up that one guys' car). Near the top of the alleyway, there's a little "sideyard" that you can get into. It seems to be a dead end, but if you take a smaller car and go straight towards the wall, you will fall through, that's right, through the wall, and start falling. You will eventually pop back onto the road after falling below the city, and you will recieve cash for daredevil stunts. Keep doing this to your hearts' content for some easy cash. Just remember, only try this with small cars, as large cars get stuck. On a sidenote: I loved the fairy towns in BoF III. Fun fun. =3 EDIT: Gah, once again, I need to pay more attention. This is supposed to be for RPGs. Damn, sorry. Eh, I'm sure almost all of you know this, but, for FFVII, the W-item trick. Equip anyone of your characters in your current party with W-item. Then, when you go into battle, have that person use W-item. Pick any any battle item and target someone. Then, pick that same item again, only this time, when you target someone with it, press cancel. You will now have an one more of that item. Repeat as necessary. Remember, only items that can be used in battles are able to be reproduced this way. |
The only Suikoden game you can get to lvl 99 in is Suikoden III, and the only way to do it is to play 1 battle about 40 times (each time you win it gives you 2 levels automatically).
I did this and it took about 25-30 hours. I don't know if its exactly the best thing or anything....just thought I'd share. |
Thanks for your posts guys. This has been a slow thread, but it worked out all right.
Don't worry Cloud, GTA3 is fine. In fact, i'm going to expand the subject to any game so that we can maybe get some more posts. If you find something on Comand and Conquer or Dead or Alive or GTA or anything like that, feel free to share it. Thanks again for posting. |
Show-off? Why yes! I am!
Let's talk FF7.
First of all, there is an easy way to gain experience here, there, and everywhere. But the most important ones are in the beginning because you're relatively weak and short on mobility. So, what can ya do? Well, if you're really good, you can try fighting a Midgar Zolom, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you want the Beta spell for your Enemy Skill materia. The best early-spot I know is the Junon hallway where the troops are all in practice. Hit an alarm button and be ready for Slaloms and Death Machines. More on this later. Library's closing. |
