Recent Reads.

This thread is to discuss your recent readings, and the readings of others.

I just finished American Gods by Neil Gaiman. I've taken my newest title and sig from it. I really enjoyed it. Like his work on Sandman it's myths and legend for adults. I really like his take on the mythological figures too. I'm still figure out who the 'Forgotten God' is.

American Gods was a great book. Everyone here should read it.

I just finished re-reading The Hobbit for school.

Well, I'm kinda hopping through the Sandman novels out of order (1, 6, Endless Nights, 2) whenever I have an hour or two free and can get to Barnes and Noble.

I finished Good Omens about a week ago, and am about chest deep in Gun, with Occasional Music. Its probably the greatest sci-fi hardboiled detective noir story featuring talking kangaroos ever.

I read the latest installment of the Wheel of Time and sthe Sword of Truth series not so mong ago, i highly recommend both series if your into fantasy at all.

Been reading alot of Science Fiction lately, a number of short stories in The Science Fiction Hall of Fame Vol. I and Burning Chrome by William Gibson. As for novels I'm almost through At the Mountains of Madness by H.P. Lovecraft. I started on The Difference Engine by Gibson and Sterling and Mystic River by Denis Lehane, but i've stalled about halfway through on both of them.

I hear Nuklear Age is great.

Yeah, me too, it's awesome.

Yeah, it's great, I heard that somewhere.

Ravenhurst 11-29-2004 05:16 PM

I just finished Sandman a week ago, and am now working on the Daily Show book. It's hilarious, but I don't have a lot of free time. (And yes Kurosen, I do intend to read Nuklear Age).

MasterOfMagic 11-29-2004 06:30 PM

Nuklear Age? Whazat? (Just kidding, but I'm broke. ;_; so not for a little bit. But I will I swears!)

Oh, and I'm currently reading "The Scarlet Letter" for school. Got to finish it in three days. BUT, once that's done, I'm trying to get Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy from my school library. Some mean person out there needs to return it!!!

Squishy Cheeks 11-29-2004 08:28 PM

If I see it in a book store I'll buy it Kuro, but I don't buy online unless it's something I need and I can't get it cheaper offline.

ChaosMage 11-29-2004 08:29 PM

Are you somehow implying that you don't need [Nuklear Age?
