"I think I need to make a new arrow." Matt said. He got off his steed and pulled the arrow from the ogre's eye as it made a sickening squishing sound. He threw it away into the bushes. "But hey, at least thats one less ogre roaming about."
|
OOC: JAD, I figured that the ogre could take minor damage, not enough to impair its performance, or even for Wounds, as part of the disarm. I mean, if I had smacked its hand so it let go, it would probably have clutched it in pain as well, even though it would probably still be able to punch as well as ever after the (temporary) pain wore off.
Of course, if it doesn't work I'll edit it. |
ooc: The technique is a disarming technique. It attacks the weapon not the user.
|
OOC: True, but I figured that the best way to disarm someone would be to rap him on the knuckles and make him drop his weapon. In any case, it will be changified...

Tsubasa sighed, her right hand on her chest. "Wow, that was amazing." She said, not quite breathless, but still impressed.
|
Soon they were back on the road and rapidly approaching the small village of Nisake Mura. There was a mountain stream near the village with very cold water. A Grain mill stood on the other side of the stream from the village. A small arched bridge gaped the stream. In the village proper were 8 medium sized thatch roofed homes. The streets were empty. There was no sound in the village but the voice of the wind.

Tusbasa was thankful that her Yari was still in her hands. "This place is disturbing. It's so quiet, even for a town so small."
|
"Its...quaint I guess. There doesn't seem to be that many people to train, or save for that matter."
|
"Are we to late." Sanjuro asked. The peasant's looked fairly surprised to.
Suddenly the warning bell rang. Dozens upon dozens of families came pouring out of the homes at the sound of the bell. "O-samurai-sama! Save us!! O-samurai-sama! O-samurai-sama! Save us! Save us!" the crying peasants said as they prostrated themselves. "I found our patrons Lord Kambei." Toku said. He hopped down from the bell platform. "You call us out here to help defend you, and then hide from us when we arrive!?!" Kambei said angrily "You treat us like the enemy you want us to defeat!?! Yet the first sign of danger you come crawling to us to save you." Kambei turned his back on the peasants and turned to leave the village. Sanjuro and Toku followed. "Samurai-sama." Hanzo said, his eyes firmly pointed on the ground. "Forgive my fellow villagers, Please don't abandon us." Kambei turned and looked at the peasant. He nodded. "We will look over the village and decide the best plan of defense." |
"This shall be...what the kami want it to be." Matt supposed. Saying that the place was all-but-hopeless would be offensive to its inhabitants, commanding the peasants to lead him to his room would make him seem like an overbearing daimyo, and just asking "Is there any of you who would like to practice archery?" made it seem like he had entered a village of blubbering children. Best to keep to himself and let Kambei handle the politics.
