Slightly off topic, but only a quick question

I am correct in assuming the computer version of FFXI doesn't play with the PS version, as in, if im on the computer I can't play with my friend who's on the PS2.

Patricoo 12-12-2003 05:15 PM

there is a PS2 version?

There isn't now, but there will be in a month or two.

And no, to the best of my knowledge the PC and PS2 versions of FFXI will play together, so if you play on a PC and your friend plays PS2, you should be able to play together.

And back on topic, I wouldn't recommend any Pay-to-Play MMOGs to anyone, but I will recommend Gunbound, Warcraft 3, and Half-Life as great multiplayer games.

I recommend Diablo II, but it's useless without the Expansion.

Hm, I'm debating weather or not to just get the PC version, but I want to know for sure that I can play with my friends (I want to get this game ASAP). I thought games on the PC were slightly different then PS2 versions, so I'm reluctant to spend 60 or whatever bucks just to go 'doh!'.

Well, I don't remember exactly, but I thought I had heard from multiple sources that they will be compatible, but if you want to be safe just use whatever system your friend has.
