It's calling me...... : P

Name: Ainaz D'rell
Race: Shandim
Age:17
Weapons: Scimitar (on water), Pole Arm (on land), boot knife (strapped to forearm when at sea), daggers and throwing knives (used whenever the hell she wants).
Armour: little to none. armour is hard to swim in. has leather wristbands, if that counts.
Skills: sailing, swimming, thieving, horse riding, swearing, archery, bargaining, brigandage
Appearance: Tall, reddish-brown hair cut short and spiked(i'm not sure if the braid is an Kishan thing, or a shandim thing. if it's shandim, everything is cut short except the braid.). Blue-green eyes. Black tribal tattoo running up left side of neck and just onto her cheek, and down her left arm. Wears a beaded shark-tooth pendant, and the generic clothes of a pirate, loose fitting draw-string pants, and a wraparound shirt. Bare feet. On land she wears stout leather boots.
Bio: Like most Talan clansmen (and women), Ainaz is a part-time pirate, part-time merchant, and a full-time thief. And she enjoys it greatly. Her tribe, the Dreu, focus mostly on piracy (and it's more legal forms, smuggling and merchancy), and live life on the high seas. Ainaz isn't of age yet, so she can't get her master's ticket and move up to first mate of a vessel. But oh how she wants to. She loves the sea, especially the freedom it gives her. Last seen sailing towards the East in search of booty. Arr. : P
Extra: Bears the Jae'sun blade 'Ilio Hae

Name: 'Ilio Hae
Race: Jae'Sun Blade
Age: somewhere around 2500 years old. give or take a couple hundred.
Benefits: Speed and dexterity. Can only be wielded by the descendant (either spiritual or blood) of it's original owner. Inspires tactical and leadership skills.
Appearance: take the Scimitar pictured above. Shorten the hilt by about an inch. Wooden hilt is engraved with images of ships, waves, and wolves. Blade is etched with tribal wave and wolf designs. Steel has a bluish cast. Has a dangly beaded feather hanging from the hilt. Incorporated into the designs on the blade, in ancient Shandim, it reads "A wolf's fighting spirit never dies. He will never surrender."
Bio: The Smith of the ruling council, Jae'sun, The Rounaud Sorceror, forged several blades of great beauty and craft. Using his powers he awoke the spirits of the blades, and gave them noble souls of the Noble animals. He gifted these ten blades to the ten generals of the Shandim empire. 'Ilio Hae was given to Akritan Dreu, the merchant prince (and general) of the greatest city in the Shandim Empire. 'Ilio Hae has since stayed within the clan, although not neccessarily the family. In order to wield the blade, the bearer must first be accepted by it. As far as the Shandim know, Ainaz is the first woman to bear 'Ilio Hae.

*'Ilio Hae is Hawaiian for Wolf. or at least that's what the nifty online dictionary said. :D

*has been watching too much Pirates of the Caribbean*

tell me if i've got to change anything, 'kay Jad?

BMHadoken 12-13-2003 01:18 AM

The sword needs to be younger, Jads is the *strongest* and its only 2000...

gh0st 12-13-2003 01:24 AM

the sword would have been made at the same time as Jad's, round abouts, 'cause it's one of the 10 Shandim blades.

Squishy Cheeks 12-13-2003 01:25 AM

2500 is still about right. only reason I said 2000 is the Ali have an oral tradition not a written history, so the actual record of when the sword was created are not that accurate. again only Jae'sun knows for sure. Ghost, yours would be a 3rd gen reproduction of Shan, the original wolf blade. That one is accounted for in Jae'sun's collection.

IHateMakingNames 12-13-2003 01:25 AM

My weapon could be 10,000 years old for all anyone knows...

Squishy Cheeks 12-13-2003 01:28 AM

While in my stories Jae'sun lived to be well over 10,000. At this point he's only about 5500+

BMHadoken 12-13-2003 01:31 AM

So wait, can my thing go back to being 3000ish since it was brought to the church in its infancy, and Elves would be living alongside it and all...

And what stories?

darkt0aster 12-13-2003 01:31 AM

a few questions:
when does this start?
how often do we need to post to be an active part of this storyline?

fine, i'll take out the random effects

final (i hope) draft of my character
(sorry about the length)
Name: Uoyot H'tead
Race: Tomril
Class: Assassin
Age: middle age (refuses to disclose the exact years)
Armor: custom-made studded leather
Weapons: two short swords (see below), vials of various poisons, short bow
Equipment: rope, grappling hook (for use on rope), small very sharp cutting tool, flint and steel, a stolen (and not very good) horse, and a small amount of money from various regions.
Skills: climbing, horseback riding, archery, hiding, pick lock, disguise, escape, and other skills an assassin would find handy
Appearance: about 5' 6", 98 lbs (w/o equipment), slightly muscular build (but nothing that stands out), medium-long length hair all over body (covers a large amount of scars), green eyes (with a slight glow if you look close enough)
Bio: Uoyot was adopted into a rich family (i'm not going to bore you with any more childhood details...yet). One winter's day, he was out riding with his family when they were attacked. Uoyot was the only one to survive that day, but moments after the slaughter, there is a huge void in his memory. Where it picks up again is about 8 years later in the middle of the forest when he awakens from an unnaturally caused sleep. He knows he lived those past 8 years of life, but remembers nothing about them. One thing that was different on the latter side of the void was a general increase in physical ability, and more knowlege of anatomy, architecture, streetsmarts, subterfuge, and other subjects. Uoyot became aware of this and put his skills to use, eventually becoming an assassin for hire working out of a town nearby the forest he woke up in. After years of constant work and relocation, one fateful job is taken, and Uoyot became the new owner of a unique pair of swords... (more in Bio for sword)

Sword Name
: Ra'jik and Sa'jik (Jae'Sun blades) (short swords)
Age: roughly 1600 years old, though probably older
Characteristics: Speed, Dexterity, and Absorbs a small amount of sound and light (absorbtion can be amplified by an experienced user, Uoyot is not quite to this point, however).
Appearance: Jet black identical blades that are so dark it almost seems they absorb light around them. The hilt is made of a marble colored, leather like and so far unidentified material. No etchings or defects are visible
Bio: The swords were originally given to Lord Dewwat for a previous favor given to Jae'Sun. Lord Dewwat eventually waged war with Lord Verisha and was defeated (his head and swords were taken as trophies). Lord Verisha's empire grew quickly and then fell into a state of anarchy and the swords were temporarrily lost as the empire became the ruins it is today. They were found again almost 1300 years later by a very poor merchant looking for various items to sell. The merchant found the swords, knowing nothing about them. When the swords were placed on the market, one man bought the swords as soon as they were placed on the merchant's stand for an extremely large sum of money (primarily to keep the peddeler quiet about the transaction). The swords resided in a mansion for a few more hundred years, until a client of Uoyot's placed an assassination order to kill the owner of the mansion. After the job was completed, Uoyot noticed the swords and the odd feeling he got as he walked towards them. He took the swords and escaped into the night.

Currrses. Oh well. *shrugs philosophically* I still get a SCIMITAR! WEEE!

Squishy Cheeks 12-13-2003 01:35 AM

I've been writing about the world I'm using here for several years now, since about '91. It's gradually become more refined and well defined.

CelesJessa 12-13-2003 09:38 AM

Ghoooost... I wanted to be a theif... *sob* that's what I get for waiting to post my character. grrr... back to the drawing board...

(Actually, two theives might be funny, "That's MINE dammit!" "No it isn't I saw it first!" But I'll think of something else...)

CelesJessa 12-13-2003 10:11 AM

Alright here's my character. No theif for me, but I'll be a fighter ^^

Name: Khakoi Mitsu (so returns the name from hell. hehe)
Race: Human (Rounaud I guess it is)
Age: 19
Weapons: Illuser
Armor: Seen in the picture. Just the sholder armor
Skills: sword fighting, horse riding, ass kicking... err I mean... regular combat.
Appearance: http://www.angelfire.com/md/tofd/ima...uteepuppet.gif (the girl, not the puppet) Except she has blond hair (gotta keep with my tradition. ^^ ) http://members.fortunecity.com/stahn/Rutee.jpg (there's a farther away picture)
Bio: Khakoi was born into a rather wealthy family, but she grew tired of always having everything given to her, which led to be a fairly boring life. So she ran away from home to find her own 'calling'... or at least to find adventure. She's always had a knack for fighting and she will in no way let somebody walk all over her. She tends to be outspoken and says what she thinks.
Extra:

Name: Illuser
Race: Jae'sun Blade
Age: over 2000 years old (*shrugs* I didn't really know what else to put here ^^ )
Benefits: The sword talks and sometimes offers advise (even though it's about as outspoken as Khakoi is, if not more). Other than that, it helps in combat.
Appearance: http://members.fortunecity.com/stahn/Igtenos.jpg
Bio: (umm I haven't thought of one yet.)

I hope that this is all okay.

Dante 12-13-2003 10:34 AM

Would a lancer be acceptable? I didn't want to use swords all the time...

BMHadoken 12-13-2003 10:47 AM

I think he said any weapons were allowed...I woulda picked a mace, but those double swords look bitchin.

And I'm still confused about the age thing...

Dante 12-13-2003 10:56 AM

You mean as in paired swords or two-bladed swords?

BMHadoken 12-13-2003 10:57 AM

These two hooked swords...theres a link in my bio...

Dante 12-13-2003 10:59 AM

Would be very good for disarming a foo'...

CelesJessa 12-13-2003 11:37 AM

BM, your swords look pretty wicked. ^^ (I had to say something about those swords) Mines just a plain blue sword, but I was thinking about using a smaller more hooked sword.

BMHadoken 12-13-2003 12:35 PM

I'm updating my weapon's...I'll be the earth guy...

Sword Name(s): Feda and Fiducia
Age: Unknown, really old though.
Characterisitcs: When properly swung by the appointed wielder, it can rend the earth (creates huge gashes in the ground that go on for about ten feet).
Appearance: Really bitchin
Bio: A few millenia ago, Jae'sun was traveling through a remote part of the world when he came under attack. Taken by suprise and threatened with death, he eventually escaped, but not before he was posioned. He wearily stumbled through the remote firest, finally stumbling into the newly built church of Jude's hometown. The resident priests nursed him back to health, and to repay their great kindness, he crafted Feda and Fiducia, and imbued them with the power of the earth, his simple way of wishing that the church would remain for as long as the earth itself. They have since been handed down to each of the head Templars.

There we go.

I don't know about the growing part. That just seems a bit illogical.

BMHadoken 12-13-2003 12:47 PM

Ok, just the earth thing...and logic...cmon....

Squishy Cheeks 12-13-2003 12:50 PM

The weapons bonuses are mostly passive bonuses. the stretching thing is a bit to proactive for an awakened hunk of metal.

BMHadoken 12-13-2003 12:54 PM

Well its been in pretty active use for the Templars...but I took it out...it was just something I thought of at that moment...

darkt0aster 12-13-2003 09:46 PM

a few questions

when will this start?

how often are you wanting us to post to remain active in this story?

is this char ok?

Squishy Cheeks 12-13-2003 11:01 PM

umm tommorow, at least once a day, sure.

Dante 12-14-2003 01:58 AM

Name: Zato Roronoa Isperi

Race: Shandim (Isperi)

Age: 24

Weapons: Longicolnis, a short sword and his bare hands.

Armor: A long robe and a light breastplate, with a pair of fingerless gloves.

Skills: Stealth, medicine, two-handed swordsmanship, unarmed and spear-based martial arts, surviving in the wilderness.

Appearance: A young, handsome man with blond hair and blue eyes, dressed in a long robe covering his light armor.

Bio: Zato was born of the Socerai clan, but one night, when his family was travelling along the borders of Isperi and Socerai territory, their boat was ambushed by pirates, leaving only Zato to survive. He was found by an Isperi ranger, Roronoa Isperi, who raised Zato as his own. Roronoa was a master spearman, and he taught Zato everything he knew. One day, when he and his foster father were travelling the wilderness, enemies of his father ambushed them. Roronoa, in a bid to protect Zato, sent him away before being killed by his hunters. Blindly, Zato ran through the woods until he entered a small cave. He saw a raised pedestal in the center of the cave, and upon it a large, gleaming blade. The blade told him its name - Longicolnis, or "long horn". Zato walked out of the cave with Longicolnis, looking for his father's killers, but he could not find them. Since then, he has wandered the world, training with Longicolnis, waiting for the day when he might avenge his father.

Name: The Lancea Longicolnis

Race: Jae'sun Blade, albeit a very unorthodox example

Age: Unknown, but doubtlessly ancient (2000+ years old)

Benefits: Longicolnis grants its wielder limited power over physical reality, though this may change depending on how attuned Longicolnis is to its wielder. Longicolnis is also able to animate itself and fight independently of its wielder, and when thrown, it will return automatically to its wielder's hand. A side-effect of the reality control power is ESP, the ability to see things at a distance, and an incredible dodging ability. It may have more powers, but these are the few that are readily apparent.

Appearance: Unlike any other spear, Longicolnis appears to be a six foot long greatsword with an oddly-shaped blade, sans crosspiece or handguard. It seems to be made of a single piece of gleaming silver metal, with slight bronze hints throughout. Along the center of the blade is a raised metal ridge with a rounded handhold cut into it. Closer inspection reveals that the area serving as the hilt and the insides of the ridge are covered in intricate carvings, both for cosmetic purposes and to increase its user's grip on the lance.

Bio: Longicolnis is unique among Jae'sun's creations. It is a lance that he forged from the horn of the fallen angel Uriel (hence the name Longicolnis, or "long horn") for the Dragon Knights of the Kishan, and imbued with great power by the Socerai warlocks. However, following the Kishan Exodus the spear was stolen by agents unknown. Though it was meant for use as a lance, it can be swung as a greatsword and even thrown. It retains the fallen angel's power over reality, but this power is checked by the need for its user to attune to it through countless hours of practice and meditation. Longicolnis is sentient, but communicates by triggering memories and flashbacks rather than actual speech.

Squishy Cheeks 12-14-2003 07:49 AM

I thought I told you the Socerai are an Island nation. They only border water. He could have washed up on shore. but a carriage can't work on water. change it to boat and bandits to pirates.

Dante 12-14-2003 12:19 PM

Changed it. The Socerai thing must have slipped my mind.

Necro_Slayer 12-14-2003 06:08 PM
