Crazy Mario Lick:

Alright, so first off, just read my signature real quick:

Now, assuming you know what I'm talking about, I'm just wondering if any of you can play this section in time and acurately, on any instroment let alone the guitar.

Melfice 12-04-2004 04:54 AM

I've played it on Donkey Konga... but I don't think that is what you mean...

Aeria 12-04-2004 05:37 AM

I can play that on piano just fine (I know all the Mario music for piano :D), but never bothered on guitar as I use that for Final Fantasy and rock-ish stuff...

You have WAY to many 'dadadadadadada's... I'm not sure but I think all the red ones are extra. I know this because when I play it I add more because I think it sounds better... And then my friends always say "You're playing it wrong!"

A real challenge though it the Castle theme from that game. I don't think it is humanly possible to play, without dedicating years of your life. It is constant 16th note chords with all kinds of crazy accidentals. I played the first bar veeery slowly... And never tried again.

You play Final Fantasy music on a guitar, Aeria? I wish I could hear you play.

One day I was bored, picked up my mom's guitar, and learned about seven awesome games songs. They include:

The theme to MegaMan 3 (you know it's awesome if you played it)

The theme to Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty

The mystical Theme from Guitaru Man (this was my actual insperation for playing the guitar)

The song Born to be Bone from guitaru man

The Battle songs from Final Fantasy 4

The wind-mill song from Zelda 64:Ocirana of Time

and the Zelda theme song (REALLY FAST, it's a toughy)

Unfortunately, I know longer have unlimited access to a recording studio, so recording myself would be a challenge... I just play for fun anyways. My favourite song is "Breezy" from Final Fantasy VIII, you can just play it quietly in the background while you talk with friends and just hang out.

Gilgamesh, those are all awesome songs :D It's good to know I'm not alone in my addiction to video game music.

hoora for game music!

Right now i'm trying to get the Gilgamesh theme down but it is HELLA-FAST. does anyone know where I can find the straigh up sheet music?

This thead makes less and less sense each time I click it.

Edit: Oh, now I get it. I just can't read.

Gilgamesh, you talking about sheet music for piano or guitar? Piano should be fairly easy to find, I started learning that one, but then stopped to learn FF6's Mystic Forest instead.

Guitar, most of the songs I know i just learn it by ear, but the Gilgamesh theme is just way too hard. But I think I can make the piano music into guitar. That aside, do you know a good sheet music site?
