We never decided on an arena, and certainly it would not be a wide open area. That goes against the idea of the two games all together, with those tiny little boss areas and screens.

Well if it goes against both games, neither character has the advantage...

They have disadvantages each, and that is why it should be a small, maybe two screen at most level, 1 screen high ceiling.

And all X would have to do is copy her programming, and use her attacks against her.

What if a basic platform kinda place. Dome like place. Verious ledges and platforms, very advatagy to them both.

uh, regardless of the version of X, his powers are given to him by defeating enemies, hence he can have any/all of his robot master powers that he wants. heck, even then, X can just use masses of homing missles while running away. samus's missles simply don't home in SM
apart from that, samus can't use pretty much can't jump, lest she fall into an electric attack, and regardless of her ability to dodge, X can fire one shot to force her to jump, then tornado her back down, THEN fire elec at her.

X would have to either kill her first, or touch her, and either way Samus is more than capable of keeping X away from her.

And where did Samus get a weakness to electricity? I haven't played a game where she is, but in Super Metroid she isn't disabled by electricity, she just takes damage.

um, i fail to see how her incredibly easy to predict screw attacks would negate X's ability to dash. instant acceleration means that he can outrun the fuggin' missles. and remember: X fires missles.

also, note that X can jump in lava and lose 1 or 2 bars of hp, while samus will lose around 30 to 40 before X gets hit again.

using that, X has WAYYYY more life than samus.

If X falls on a spike he dies instantly and Samus survives, so don't even bring obstacles up. Bosses take big chunks out of X's life, and Samus is at least equal to any X boss, so she would do decent damage at least. Also, all Samus would have to do is hit X with 1 freeze beam, and he's a sitting target for about 5 seconds, more than enough time to hit him with a super missle.

using the "samus is an X boss" theory, then whenever she's hit with a charged shot, she gets stunned, and X automatically gets a weapon that's godly against her.

elec strips her armor like vs. the armadillo sounds about right.
