Full Metal Alchemist
Since the only other topic I could find was locked, I have to start a new one to ask my question, as I didn't see it answered in that one (but it's entirely possible I missed it)
How many episodes are there? |
Fifty-one, but Cartoon Network hasn't gotten that far yet.
|
here is a question, how can Mustang (SP) create fire? Even if they can put matter in states of thermal activity still doesn't answer where he got the matter.
Oh and if they show it in the next episode just say that. |
I can't remember if there's an official explanation in the series. I would just assume he's setting the air on fire.
|
since some maybe doesent want too know im writing it in black.
his gloves are made of some strange material that creates sparks when he rubs his fingers togheter powerfull enough, and that is what he uses too trigger his flames. (he also has a transmutation circle on the gloves that make him able too control the flames) thats what it is if i remember correctly. |
ok but how does he create it, where does he get the fire?
I would accept air but then equal exchange is meaningless since you can just use the air around you. |
He affects the amount of oxygen in the air useing that transmutation circle on the glove, and lights it on fire... I think. I'll look throught the manga, its in there somewhere.
|
ok time to bring on the science.
Fire is in many forms but the most common and what we often reffer to as fire is when hydro-carbons fuse with Oxygen. Once the hydro-carbons reach about 600F they ignite becoming CO, CO2, and H2O (depending on how well its balanced). Now assuming he can use alchemy for heat what is he converting for the hydro-carbons and O2 |
Alright. Here goes the explination given in the manga:
"That glove of the Colonel's is made from spark cloth, it's special and can do that. Flick against it hard enough an a spark will be ignited. Then, adjust the oxygen concentration in the atmosphere around something flammable and... 'poof' " |
ok that technically works...is kind of a cop-out though.
