OOC: Cloud, Palom is about 18-20 years old at this point, and I gather Cloud isn't much older. :p

IC: Palom rolled his eyes, annoyed both at the warrior's condescending attitude and his immediate interruption, and responded with biting sarcasm.

"Right, I'm sure we'll all be terrified by whatever lurks in these old ruins, grandpa, and only your wise and sanctimonious judgement, carrying the experience of your venerable age, will see us through safely. Just try not to trip over your cane."

"So, where should we start, Cloud?" Tifa looks down at the city and reminisces [sp?] about her old bar and how somethings used to be so simple.

"Are these reactors the places where Materia is made?" Palom frowned, thinking what might happen if an otherwise normal creature was exposed to that much magic in such a form.

OOC: i think it actualy had something too do with the draining of the mako energy, as i remember it when the mako in a place got drained or something like that materia is formed. i guess thats not all but its a simpel way of putting it. you get too know this when Cloud and seph reach the mako fountain in MT. nibel in clouds story about his past.

Celes looked back at the Magirock, then to Cloud. "Cloud, I don't suppose anything has to die for Materia, Such as how when an Esper dies in our world, it left Magirock behind?"

Suddenly, a sharp snapping sound jerked the people out of conversation. Rydia had her whip out, staring at some beastly shapes closing in on the party. "Love alive, heroes." Rydia said with a smirk. "We got dangerous wildlife coming."

OOC: If I recall correctly, Materia was made by draining the life-force of the planet, Mako, and then turning it into Materia. What they didn't explain was why life-force could teach you spells and abilities.

IC: "It sounds as if it can occur naturally, but someone produced an artificial way of making them, and it looks as though he has a bit of a distaste for the process...did these reactors damage the planet somehow?" Palom considered what the others were saying, then smiled slightly, "How ironic...we aren't even sure how magic works on MY world, and I'm already asking how it works on this one."

Hearing Rydia's comment, he brought some of his damaging spells to the forefront of his mind, "Cloud, Tifa, do you know what those are? If so, what are their weaknesses?"

OOC: lol I have to put this monster in!
IC: "One of them looks like a Catuar. I don't recall any of the others though. Cactuar are hard to kill and they can kill you easily, watch out for it's 10,000 Needle attack!" Tifa went to the front of the group and put on her gloves. "Just like old times, huh Cloud?"
