My new weapon creations (formally sword-chucks as weapons)
Okay, no idea where this should go, but I'll put this here now. Moderators, you wanna delete it, fine go ahead.
Right, not experienced in doing this kinda thing. Sword chucks are one type of swordX2. They are held in one hand. They weapons do the same damage as their swords, 2 attacks to each sword chuck. YOU CAN HOLD TWO SWORD CHUCKS! You get 2 attacks per blade with greater two weapon fighting. I will update this! |

--- *SWORD CHUCKS RULE OK* ---
I see it now - I could rule the world (with my army of squirrels [thankyou previous thread, and less of the 'OH NO, NOT AGAIN' s], armed with sword-chucks) On second thoughts, why not just DESTROY IT?!?!?!?! --------> No, seriously, sword chucks are great, and apart from the minor inconvenience of amputating one's arm when held INCORECTLY. As for 'Greater two weapon fighting', I can see the logic behind this, and therefore you must get x4 attacks per turn. (see, I can add) This is an even greater idea than my pouch of burning snow!!! ¦¬) |
IMO, sword-chucks should work as modified gyrspikes, substituting a second sword for the spiked ball. It counts as a double weapon, so no dual-wielding them.
|
well, it could be dual weilded, but not for more than two attacks (can't uses secondary when dual weilding, as per a human using two gnome hook hammers (DnD 3rd edition rule book)
|
Where exactly is this rule, Myst?
And the rules I have state that dual-wielding double weapons is impossible, because you have to use it across the body. Even having multiple arms wouldn't help as they'd all interfere with each other. |
Players Handbook, Pg. 101, Hammer, Gnome Hooked A gnome hooked hammer is a double weapon. You can fight with it as if fighting with two weapons, but if you do, you incur all the normail attack penalites associated with fighting with two weapons, as if you were using a one-handed weapon and a light weapon (see Attacking with Two Weapons, page 124). A creature using a double weapon in one hand, such as a human using a gnome hooked hammer, can't use it as a double weapon...
So, if you were to use sword chucks one in each hand, it would be the same as using two swords, probably with an added penalty unless you had exotic weapon proficiency. |
Yeah, this is just how we're doing it, and glad to see you finally up smurf.
Right, look at the comics, fighter uses TWO, count em, TWO sword chucks. I based this all from 8-bit chronicles and edited it from there. NEW FEAT: 12 forms of Vargus Zodiac Kenshido technince. Gives you +1 to hit with all weapons. This is due to the knowledge of how to cause pain to others via the above. Who cares what weapon, as long as they get hurt. |
I'd treat them as a special weapon, shuch as weilding two one-handed two-bladed swords. (You may have seen that technique used before). The huge disadvantage to using sword-chucks is the fact you can't adequately defend yourself from attacks not already fleeing in terror from your 25 degree forward Kill-zone.
I'd say they work like this. Sword Chuck, Exotic, Double-Weapon 1d8/1d8 19-20/2x Special: A Sword-Chuck may be used in one hand, at a -2 penalty to attack rolls. Weilding multiple sword chucks (To a maximum of two, as the spinning blades require enough space to work effectively, multiple hands weilding more than 2 sword chucks would quickly become a tangled, bloody mess) increase this penalty normally (-2 for a double weapon, -4 for weilding two even-sized weapons). Weilding two sword chucks also grants a -2 penalty to AC. Due to the inherantly dangerous nature of sword-chucks, nonproficient weilders have a 25% chance to damage themselves when using the weapon. Proficient weilders have only a 5% chance, - their BAB, negating the penalty at BAB 5. (A 5th level Fighter) Dual weilding Sword-Chucks requires the Dual Sword-chuck style feat, which also negates the -2 penalty to attack rolls for using a Sword-chuck in one hand. Additionally, the Vargusdexterity feat reduces the penalty for weilding a sword-chuck in each hand by 2. I'd say that's balanced... More or less... A 6th level fighter with Two weapon fighting, Improved two weapon fighting, EWP: Sword Chucks, Sword Chuck Style, and Vargusdexterity has 8 attacks, with fairly hefty penalties to those rolls. He's more of an insane whirlwind than a specialist, which is what we're shooting for. |

Yeah, glad to see this is going so well, change any of this for your games, but this is how we play ours.
Please post if you like them, cos if you do, I might do some more. As crazy as the smurf made it. His pouch of burning snow is actually a rather good weapon. |
