Rachet and Clank
Who here is going to get Rachet and Clank 3? 1 and 2 were both really good action/platformers and from what I hear, 3 is better then both.
I'm also thinking about Jak 3 because 2 was really good but I'm not sure if I need the frustration. |
seriously, if you lose on Jak 3, it has nothing to really do with horrible game mechanics. I've played it, and dealt with the frustrations of Jak2 more than i've wanted too. Jak 3 is challenging, but never impossible

Yeah, Jak 3 is a fair bit more leveled in terms of challenge than Jak 2 was. The only problem I had with Jak 3 is there are far too many vehicular missions & not enough platformer goodness.
Also, Light Jak's healing abilities, if you use them correctly, can make the game a bit too easy once you get that particular Light Jak power. Back to R&C3. While, yes they did take away the most hated races that were in R&C 1&2, they also too away the ship battles of R&C2, which I kinda liked. Also we see the return of the upgrading feature in R&C2, which for the weapons I really like, but as for hitpoints, I fairly dislike. I mean, between armor upgrades & the high level of hitpoints, well it makes it entirely impossible for you not to be able to beat this game into a small mushy pulp. So anyway, yeah I'd recommend Jak 3. Its got a better storyline than R&C3, and is overall more fun. Although, R&C3 isn't too bad if you've got nothing better to do. SWK |
JakIII all the way. I like the Ratchet series, but I've always found its gameplay to be a lot less rewarding than that of the Jak series. JakIII improves a lot from JakII (the black sheep of the series in many opinions) and gives you more options. Although Ratchet gives you infinity different kinds of weapons, they're kind of uninspired. JakIII gives you 12 weapons that will all be practical one time or another. The powers are fun, too, but you don't use them as much as you'd think, and the game is still challenging with them. (The healing makes platforming a little bit easier, but not much.)

I beat Jak3 in fifteen hours. Would R&C3 last longer, and does the multiplayer add some length? And your right SWKC, there wasn't enough platforming in Jak3, which is a pity, because I thought that the vehicle controls were horrible.

Well, I took longer to beat R&C3 than I did Jak 3. But then I took my sweet time beating it. For Jak, I tended to get through as much as I could before I finally hit the sack.
For R&C, I just got through a mission and usually called it quits. I mean this time around, the story felt even less inspired than the last two, and the missions tended to be a bit too similar. As for on-line play, I don't have on-line capabilities. SWK |
I prefer the R&C series mself. Story just never really impacted my outlook on the game (although the humor of R&C really blows away Jak). You can probably beat both games in two rental weeks.

Rachet and Clank 3 is a lot harder then the first two.

Ratchet and Clank Up Your Arsenal is the best of the series by far. The online mode tops all others. My clan plays on this website www.RCArsenal.com, they also have some cool missions that you can do to earn bolts for merchandise. What do you guys think?

I got R&C 3, the skins are pretty cool, Skrunch rules, I love the shock cannon, qwark and skrunch are really funny, and you've got some really funny parts. I haven't got online, but I may to play with other people on multiplayer. As for Jak 3, it's a no for me. From what I've heard here, it's not what I like in a platformer. And I can't beleive that white Jak got dumbed down to healer after the awesome ending of Jak1.
