FlashBacks for Saturdays

I was sick Sat and got a chance to see some of the cartoons. What do you guys think of the new He-man and the Star Wars micoseries Cartoon Network put on?

LilWhiteMage 12-14-2003 12:54 PM

The microseries... peh. It barely holds my attention for what little time that it IS on.

He-man.... I liked the one they did yesterday with the history of Greyskull.... and there was the one about the dragons (basically like the lion saving the mouse who later saves the lion type story) Personally, I liked the good old days of He-man.

I remember watching it when I was little.... instead of Barbie dolls I had all the He-Man action figures, Castle Greyskull, anything they made, I had it. In one picture of when I was little, I'm standing there with my He-man shirt on, a He-man figure in one hand and a bottle of Coke in the other >_>

I even had this blue step stool that was in the shape of shoes for the bathroom so I could reach the sink... I called them my 'He-man' shoes.. and still call them that to this day ^^; Heheh I still have those under the bathroom sink....

I'm sad... I know..

Sad in a good way =) I tell you one thing! Orco is easier to stomach now eh?

Star Wars= not as good as I'd like. It would be better as a full series instead of five minute shorts IMHO.

He-Man brings back memories. I had all the toys too, even the Skeletor whose chest changed into all battle scarred when you pushed a button. I think they're still in my basement somewhere. The new series is good, but being so busy i hardly have time to watch more thana couple of episodes. I would get totally hooked though if they brought She-Ra back.

LilWhiteMage 12-14-2003 01:27 PM

Oh hell yeah! I would definately watched more if they had She-Ra.

As far as Orco.. When I think of him now he reminds me of a more idiotic Black Mage o_o; Just... not as destructive... sorta.. I remember him though as being one of my favorite characters back then, Kringer (sp?) too ^^ He's such a cutecute big kitteh, even when he turns into BattleCat. I also liked Panthor.... erm.. but then again, I AM a cat person ^^()

Yeah orco is much more level headed then he was. He rocks. I also like the big semi passive Robot but I can't remember his name. They're doing the Snake Wars now. (Stupid King Hiss) I miss Skeletor. He's the best.

Gramcrackered 12-14-2003 08:52 PM

Strange the way cartoons have gone retro over the last few years.
Oh well. Some are better, some are definitely worse.

IHateMakingNames 12-14-2003 09:05 PM

The first season of the He-Man shows were bad, but after a while it seemed to get much better, especially with the snake people added in

Krylo 12-14-2003 09:14 PM

Yah, I kinda like the newer he-mans... they're somewhat entertaining, I just wish I could remember the old ones better so I could compare them a bit better... I do remember greatly liking orco... and having all the toys like lilwhitemage.

Star Wars though... it's ok... but the 5 minutes at a time crap is... well... just that. Crap. I blink and I miss it, so I never have any idea what the hell's going on... and 5 minutes is JUST long enough for me to get interested. I start watching... am bored... then JUST as I start to enjoy it it's over.

Sir Juno 12-14-2003 10:28 PM

What I want is all the 5 minute episodes to come on DVD as one full length show.

Also, about He-Man, I am too young to remember the old ones, but I am enjoying the newer ones. Also, the robots name of all names, Roboto. I personally don't like Orco, mind you I don't like any comedic relief characters.
