Wait a sec, I played Cool Spot. It was an awesome game. I complety forgot about that one. Strongly reccomended.
|
I remember an article in an old issue of Nintendo Power about Cool Spot. It was a good game.
|
Wasn't that the 7-Up game? I remember playing that.
Hey, has anyone here played War Games: Defcon 1? It's one of my favorite PSOne games ever. It's a strategy game, but you control 5 or 6 different vehicles during the mission, like jeeps that have flairs you can use to call airstrikes, tanks, helicopters, and whatnot for the NORAD and you pilot MK walkers and Pheonixes (sorta like heli-jets) if you play WOPR. It's two players and is seriously one of the best games I've ever played. It's just so damn fun. |
hehe wargames is one of the only movie games that didnt suck. probably cuz it was made long after the movie was.
|
cool spot was pretty.......cool...(@#%^ used all my good adjectives on essay finals at school)
Phantom Fighter was the first game I ever got, my misinformed neighbor bought it for me even though I didn't own an NES, so I gave it to my grandma who has one to keep the grandkids (and sometimes the kids :)) under control. It was pretty enjoyable, especially with Game Genie (gameshark hasn't got anything on this retro goodness) Speaking of Game Genie, I had one for the original gameboy (!) lol. It's kinda sad that it fit in colors too but it was almost too awkward to use, since it almost doubled the length of the GBC. Blast Corps for N64...unique storyline, out of control truck with nuke is on autopilot and is moving through the continent, you have various impliments of destruction like a bulldozer, dumptruck(my fav, it was the hardest since you had to do controlled slides into stuff...) bike with missiles, a wierd looking truck that had panels that pneumatically shot out the sides to bash stuff, mechs that do cartweels somersaults or just step on stuff, etc to clear the path of the truck. The slightest bump from you or a piece of building wil make the truck explode and cause a massive amount of death and destruction. If any of you people read Nintendo Power in it's pre gamecube years, you probably even read a few comic episodes based on the game. comic episodes in NP......... !!!!! do any of you here remember the Nester comics? (i began to lose faith in NP when they dropped them, then the SNES games, then adding the #^@!ing moron letters, then moving almost exclusively to gamecube :( ... lets just say I no longer subscribe, but keep a large collection in my basement) Goin back to the SNES...Rock and Roll racing. best soundtrack of ANY SNES game (bad to the bone, born to be wild, paranoid, and more all done in lyricless 16 bit renditions...w00t) a not-too-repetitive and humorous announcer, the best ads in magazine (look in old Nintendo Power's if you have them) and you could upgrade your car or parts on said car as you traveled throughout the galaxy, competing on different planets against cool alien rivals. My all time favorite of an obscure game was SoM II (aka Seiken Densetsu III) I only have a ROM of it, but I seek a translated SNES cartrige to this day...*crawls over to E-bay to see if any are up for auction* I could go on for awhile more, but I'll stop for now |
I remember Blast Corps. I never played it, but I read a lot about it.
|
Hey Iggy, did you bring up The Longest Journey?
|
darkt0aster, I'm afraid you can forget those Seiken Densetsu plan of yours. As far as I know, it only ever came out in Japan.
If someone were to translate a ROM and upload it to an empty cartridge, maybe... the price for such an item would be through the roof, though. Apart from the questionable legality. Is that actually possible? |
sorry for going off topic, but....
I've got a translated ROM, but no way to make it true SNES goodness. I could have sworn that there was a way to xfer a rom to a cartrige with a butchered snes, some special cables and misc hardware. also there were instructions somewhere on how to do it...i dunno...that was at least 7 years ago when I saw it online. If I had a moral sense of legality, i'd probably buy a japanese cartrige before i did it, so it'd be less illegal...or something...i dont kno |
