496: Now I know how she got there first.

That was certainly interesting.

So that's what he meant by "She's not here yet"...

By being the magnificent bastard that he is, Sarda screwed himself out of being the 1st one there for the dawn of creation.. nice...

Klyco 12-30-2004 12:21 AM

Well, I was right about a time loop. I just didnt think it would be with Sarda. And what was he late for? To stop WM?

The Fifth Power 12-30-2004 12:24 AM

GAH! forgot the number. And I can't belive I had problems finding a good title with THAT in the comic.

And I thought the "shes not here yet" like the way mods in chat rooms say "banned" BEFORE they ban you.

Somehow, I don’t feel this comic keeps cohesion with the previous ones.
Sarda did say that he had repositioned WhiteMage’s quantum state to a POCKET DIMENSION. When in fact, she transported her to a different time in their own dimension, to the very beginning.
There are only two things to possibly explain this mix-up: Brian made some sort of typo, or Sarda’s omnipotence makes him really prone to errors and mistakes with cosmic ramifications. Or maybe not even Sarda can effectively change what is a pre-written time line that even includes his mishaps and crazy actions.

My Lead Airbag 12-30-2004 12:33 AM

Oy, now this is a head scratcher.

So, at the current comic, the time-loophole happening is thusly:
Past-Sarda influenced the WM orginization because WM was there to tell him about it, but WM was only there because the WM orginization was created and she was set on a quest and met Sarda, who transported her back to meet Past-Sarda who started the blah blah blah so on.

Doc Brown would be shitting a brick about now.

The Fifth Power 12-30-2004 12:39 AM

DAMN YOU BRIAN!! You said there would be no time travel crap!

Trixbeat 12-30-2004 12:41 AM

Actually, it does, Time is described as the 4th (or 5th) dimension. So Sarda putting him in a pocket dimension really meant sending WM across the 4th or 5th dimension.

The other argument is that the pocket dimension was not WM's own dimension. She was sent to before the beginning of the universe. She was simply thrown back to her own dimension when she touched the white speck and gave birth to the universe.

White Mage was sent to a pocket dimension. It contained a seed for a universe. She screwed up and "activated" it. As a pocket dimension can be thought of as an incomplete and tiny universe, Sarda does not contradict himself.

I said the only time travel would be due to Sarda and kept to a very bare minimum. This was done by Sarda and it is the minimum.

Anyone else get a headache after reading that explanation?
