Disclaimer: If you have never played Chrono Trigger OR Chrono Cross you can still play this RP. Also i included a story summary incase the actual story line confuses you. I'm not too good at this...yet
Story: Few know how our world was created. Reptilian sages claim our world is a mistake, thrown together to keep the time line in check. Their theory goes that there have been beings--humans, who have tampered with the timeline since the beginning. These humans made it so the apes became the dominant species of the planet, THey supposedly went on to defeat "Lavos" a being of immesurable power. From these events more humans have arisen and further destroyed the timeline. They destroyed both the Dragons that rule our era, as well as Fate itself. These events caused the timeline to break apart and reassemble incorrectly, as the humans had intended. All that did not fit into the "new" timeline was shuffled here, and led to the existance of the world as we know it. Everything shall be put in order... Story Summary.: The Destruction of Lavos, and everything connected to it (Crono and company) and the restoration of sara(Schala) zeal, the "death" of fate and the destruction of Lavos/Time devourer has completely altered the timeline from how it should be. Everything out of place has been condensed into a paralell dimension. these are the important things to realise about this dimension -Reptiles are the dominant species. Current Ruler is Azreal the third -Demi humans, Dragons, and mystics exist as well Demi-humans and mysics are seen as middle class citizens, Dragons are seen as gods -Humans are on the lowest end of the social order, many are hunted and/or mistreated on a normal basis -The kigdom of Zeal still exists, and acts as a safe haven for the human race -Lavos has not yet emerged from the earth's core. Species (note: you CANNOT be a dragon!) Human: should really be self explanatory. Some are more adept in magic while others excel in brute strength Mystics: goblins, demons and the like, pratically anything that isn't a Demi-human or Reptile is a mystic. Mystics tend to hate humans. Demi-humans: A race of half animals. Usually bipedal, Demihuman have distinct animal characteristics (feline face, Rabbit ears, and the like) and alwyas have at least one physical attribute that outshines humans and mystics Reptiles: The dominant species of THIS earth. All have a somewhat lizard like appearence, outside of that there are no disctint guidelines. Reptiles tend to be suseptible to lightning. Halfbreeds: Any bastard offspring born of a human and any non-human(mystic, demi-human, Reptile, Dragon). tend to be social outcast unless they grow a disdain for humans Dragons: the eight Acting gods of this Earth, Three seem to favor the human species. They tend to appear as they wish to the masses, anyone whose played CC knows how they look. otherwise, they are the western depiction of dragons (the four legged type). Six of these Dragons are masters of the elements: Fire(red), Water(blue) Lighning(Yellow) Earth (green) Darkness(black) and Life (White). The seventh Dragon tends to take on a human appearance. She is considerably younger than the other six. Nothing is known about the eighth. Locations: the Mainland the Kingdom Zeal: Primary Race is humans, though a few Demi-humans reside there. They are located in the western Mainland. Magic users live high in the mountains while grunts live on the ground level and below. The palace appearence is of Indian architecture. Current Ruler is Sara Zeal Terrapolis: The reptilian City, humans are killed on sight. The main capital of Azrea is located in the center of the city. Very busy and metroplitan. Treon: A patch of land on the Eastern mainland where the majority of Mystics reside. This is a city of anarchy and chaos. There is no specific ruler, just numerous gamglike factions. El Nido Archepelego: Cluster of Islands that is primarly Demi-human populated Magic: everythig but time magic is allowed. You can use the elemental archtypes or create your own. If you create your own though, you might have to water it down before we get started Weapons: Swords and guns. Try to keep it modern set. Vehicles: Human vehicles look like them, Reptilian ones tend to be mechanical versions of lizards and other animal. Mystics have hovercrafts. ...i think that covers everything. Also, once i get enough participants (bare minimum of four other people) I will start this Rp a week later. I will also close this RP and try my other idea if i get no takers Edit: Secondary Char. Info, Character Template, Reworded Disciplines and stat info SC info: you are allowed one if you wish, they have no skills, but can have two disciplines, no weapons or armor. They are also allowed 25 points for stats. Aside from this, they can be used the same way as any other character. Character Template Name: self-explanatory Age: ditto Species: Home Location (Zeal, El Nido, etc; ) Physical Description Biograpghy Items and Equipment (not including clothing) Extra: (character quirks and other random information) same goes for a secondary. Stat info: Main characters are allowed 50 starting points to spread in anyway you see fit, Disciplines affect stats, but any points awarded in a discipline is not considered part of that intial 50. The stats are Strength. Speed. Magical Prowess. Defense. Intelligence: Magical Defense Luck. Skill. I believe those are all self explanatory (at least i hope they are, I'm sick from the weather, so bear with me tonight) Disciplines: A system i made based off of the class system. The first discipline is your primary one, others serve as more subtle traits. Main character can have 3, Secondaries can have 2. The disciplines are: Gambler: Your risk-taker. Apllies to anything High risk, and possibly with high wagers, weapon of choice is cards. (Luck 3) Mage: you know what this is, it's your magic guy (4 to magic stats) Hand to Hand: Your non weapons fighter (monk class in FF games) (5 strength, 2 skill) Fighter: sword user (3 to strength, 2 to defense) Dancer: whimsical knife fighter. Scantily clad too :D (skill 2, speed 3) use throwing knives Defender: Protects allies with their shield (def 5) Thief: self explanatory (5 to speed, 2 to luck, 1 to skill) Daggars Scientist: intellectual who bides time to exploit enemy weakness. uses guns (3 to int, 2 to skill) Tamer: Uses beasts to fight for them. Uses whips For instance if you have a character with these disciplines Thief Scienitist Gambler Then you are primarily a thief, albeit a smart one that likes to take risks, but a thief nonetheless |
i will join if more people do, i will have too think a little more about my charakter though

Edit: Character Data
Name: Rinna Jamesell Age: 24 Weapon: Bone Axe Species: Human Home Location: Kingdom of Zeal Innate Element: Darkness and Death (Black) Physical Description Race: Caucasian Sex: Female Height: 5' 6" Weight: 118 Hair Color: New Dawn Orange Eye Color: Corpse Brown Markings: None Items and Equipment Bone Breastplate: (Torso) Bone Boots: (Feet) Extra: Oddly, Rinna still wears her wedding ring and cherishes it even though it's very likely the couple will break up once they've both found better loves. Stat info Strength: 17 Defense: 15 Speed: 10 Magical Prowess: 2 Intelligence: 10 Magical Defense: 1 Luck: 3 Skill: 10 Disciplines Fighter [+3 Strength / +2 Defense] Dancer: [+2 Skill / +3 Speed] Thief: [+5 Speed / +2 Luck / +1 Skill] Biography: Rinna didn't want to be bound by her marriage to Kirklin, but may have taken her desires to be free to the extremes when she came home from adventuring one day to find her husband in bed with another woman. Surprisingly, it didn't end in disaster, and the couple had decided to stay separate while still being married, coming to a mutual agreement to end the marriage if they found people they loved even more. Rinna has a broader outlook on life now, and the two still live in the house her parents (landowners) are loaning out to them. Neither of their families know about their personal agreement and they act perfectly normal for a married couple. |
I'm definitely interested, and I'd probably be a demi-human, but I don't know if I'll be able to integrate successfully, as I won't be on the computer nights and weekends for the next two weeks, minimum. So, consider this a tentative reservation.

This looks like it could be cool. Sign me up.

wow, i have takers. Wheee! also, if you would like, you're allowed one npc. Npc's are not allowed any weapons or armor, though
@ Cloud: this should'nt pose a problem, seeing as how the RP would start slow anyways. Ok, i edited my first post with a touch more info, and the character template, feel free to add or remove things from the template as you see fit. Now for my characters Name: Raziel Age: 17 Species: Demi-human halfbreed (Fox) Home: Zeal Innate Element: Fire (red) Disciplines: Magic, Hand to hand combat Emotional dispostion: Laid back and playful Physical Description: 5'9 and 140 pounds, thin and muscular build. Short cut violet hair, spiked at the bottom. His body is muscularly defined, with heavy emphasis on his legs and abdominals. pale bluish-silver eye, babyfaced. Animal characteristics include: pointier fangs, large fox ears and a tail (violet with white tips) His feet are those of a fox. He wears black and blue robes torn from the stomach up, and a Reptilian skull chest plate. He wears a ruby embedded Silver talisman tightly around his neck Equipment: Gauntlets (Bronze) Shin guards (Bone) Talisman Disciplines: Mage Hand to Hand Gambler Stats: (with modifiers) Strength. 11 Speed. 6 Magical Prowess. 9 Defense. 9 Intelligence: 7 Magical Defense. 8 Luck. 5 Skill. 13 Bio: Seventeen years ago, under the light of the twin moons, a fox demihuman living on the outskirts of the Kingdom of Zeal, entered unnoticed and raped a woman. He was found the next morning, curled and in a deep sleep, and was shot elctrocuted on sight. The woman was treated for her external wounds and kept under holy care for several months. Raziel was born within that time, looking like a completly human boy. When he reached the age of five he was shown the ways of magic, he grew skilled in the usage of the Red element: Fire. By the age of seven, his ears had started to grow longer, but was ignored and attributed to the magical growth within him. He had mastered a fire spell called the raging inferno by his ninth birthday. Mastering the complex first-level technique exposed his mixed blood, as the smoke cleared a large purple tail was seen swaying in the wind. His ears and feet had also taken on a fox like appearence. While there was initial shock, Raziel was allowed to continue his studies of magic on one condition: He wasn't allowed to harm human citizens. Raziel agreed, it's not like he had problems with that. Eight years later, during the Millenial Fair, Raziel noticed a small Pixie begin harrased by a few kids. Raziel calmy walked up to the kids and asked them to stop. The oldest, a well developed female, lunged at him with a pole and beat him in the side of the head. When she attempted another swing, Raziel grabbed the rod and unintentially channed his element through it. She burned her hand, and her group ran off. Razeil decided to check on the pixie's condition, who seemed to be stunned more than anything else. Due to his actions, he is currently awaiting trial for aggrevated magical assault. The punishment would mean the sealing of Raziel's powers, and possibly banishment from Zeal. Name: Amethyst or "Amy" Age:unknown. phys age of 13 mental age of 21 Species: Mystic (Pixie) Height: 4'9 weight: 100 Home: an island south of the mainland Disciplines: Dancer Thief Stats: (with modifiers) Strength. 3 Speed. 7 Magical Prowess. 0 Defense. 5 Intelligence: 6 Magical Defense. 2 Luck. 7 Skill. 5 Bio: Amethyst used to live on a unnamed island between just South of the mainland. Amethyst and her kind lived on the western part of the Island, dwarves lived to the East. although the pixies in general are very peaceful, they are constantly clashing with the dwarfs on the island. Amethyst was a very talented dancer, one of the best among her kind. She liked to cause trouble every so often, often sneaking onto the eastern section of the island and stealing some dwarven jewelery and tools. One day, Amy, feeling particulary proud, began dancing in a clearing on the Pixie/Dwarven border. SHe was garnishing a series of Necklaces and bracelets of Dwarven origin. One spotted her and knocked her unconscious, dragging her back to his villiage in the Eastern part of the island. For fifty years she was forced to dance (in other words Strip) at a dwarfs whim. She fled the island one night, when a drunken dwarf tried to molest her. She flew for several days before seeing a ferry headed north. She landed gracefully and hid in a supplies chamber until it reached the mainland. Ametyst was practically a gypsy after that, and eventually found her self in the lavish kingdom of Zeal. Upon her arrival however, a few rude citizens began berating her, one of them smacked her with a metal staff, and knocked her to the ground. From the looks of it, a Demi-human had saved her, and she's stuck by his side since. |
EDIT: again.
Character Template Name: Areius Age: 27 Species: human Home Location: Zeal Innate element: Shadow/soul magic (havent decided yet, both if im allowed too) Personality: the quiet type, has some flaws for evil. There after he was banned from the academy and had a sealing item that sealed away his powers put on him, shortly thereafter he ran away from Zeal and made himself a small building of rocks and wood in a deep forest close to Zeal, after that he spended 5 years in trying too break his seal and allow himself the usage of magic once again he succeded. The disciplines could easily contradict eachother, and merely seem like stat boosters. Some one could take Hand to Hand, then take Fighter so they can use a sword, then take Defender just to make them stronger (And still be allowed to attack due to the Fighter part).
And it doesn't seem that the discipliness have to make sense, since your character is a Gambler, though it is indicated no where in your template that he gambles in any way (And he doesn't use cards as a weapon). So, are disciplines merely stat boosters, or do they have an actual purpose? And is this RP supposed to be linear (You have a set story), or free-form (No set story)? Because unless the story is for Lavos to emerge and all of the races join together in a cliche and corny fashion, characters from different races don't seem like they would intermingle to well. |
This looks interesting. I think I've got a good idea for a character.
Edit: Swapping some stats for Larry, due to changes in discipline mods I just noticed. Name: Larry Age: 23 Species: Minotaur (Bull Demi-human) Home Location: El Nido Archepelego Physical Description: Standard minotaur shape, but about 10 feet tall (he's big, even for minotaurs). He has a ruby pendant in the shape of the Taurus symbol. Wears a loin cloth, and sometimes dead animals (not smart enough to skin them. Or cook them.) Biograpghy: Not the smartest bull on the field, but certainly the largest. He is a little slow, but he makes up for it in sheer ass-kicking power. Larry used to serve as a bodyguard to his best friend, George, who was also a goat demi-human crime lord. After making a crude Aries pendant for his friend, he was given a priceless ruby Taurus pendant in return. Sadly, due to both ties with the crime boss and his sheer stupidity, he keeps breaking laws unintentionally, and is currently exiled from cities in El Nido. Right now, he roams wherever his travels take him until his exile is over. Items and Equipment: Bronze Bracers, Bronze earring (left ear), Bronze nose ring, Great-axe, Ruby pendant, and a pouch with food (restorative items) Disciplines: Hand-to-hand combat Thief Defender Stats: (with modifiers) Strength. 30 (25 +5 H2H) Speed. 15 (10 + 5 THF) Magical Prowess. 0 Defense. 7 (2 + 5 DEF) Intelligence: 1 Magical Defense 5 Luck. 5 (3 + 2 THF) Skill. 7 (4 + 2 H2H + 1 THF) Extras: Larry isn't so stupid as to think he's smart. However, George secretly had the 2 friendship pendants enchanted to act as communication devices, and Larry sometimes hears George giving him guidance. Larry isn't smart enough to know that its George's voice and not his own thoughts, so he does think himself to be very wise. Secondary Character- Name: George Age: 24 Species: Demi-human (goat-like) Location: El Nido Archepelego Physical description: Think of Mr. Tumnus from "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe", only 5 foot tall and fairly skinny. In his cell (see Bio), he only has his loin cloth and the crude bronze pendant that Larry made for him. Fortunately for him, he had someone enchant his pendant and the one he gave Larry to act like walkie-talkies. Now he helps Larry by pretending to be his conscience, protecting him from smoothe-talking con-artists and such. Bio: Raised from simple origins, he tried his hand at crime. George liked it, became proficient at it, and used to run a crime ring. After his most recent heist, he was caught and imprisoned, and his best friend and top mook Larry was exiled. Equipment: Crude bronze pendant (This isn't considered armor, is it? It doesn't do anything other than let him communicate with Larry. No defense or anything.) Disciplines: Thief Gambler Stats: (with modifiers) Strength. 0 Speed. 5 Magical Prowess. 0 Defense. 0 Intelligence: 25 Magical Defense. 0 Luck. 5 Skill. 0 |
Ihate making names: This story is pretty non-linear, there are a few linear arcs, but nothing like your example. Also, i never sad anything about defeating lavos, now did i?
Omnishadow: i'm about to rewrite this section, but i meant that any modifiers from disciplines do not count towards the 50 points you are initially allowed Ex. Strength. 5 Speed. 5 Magical Prowess.5 Defense. 5 Intelligence: 5 Magical Defense 5 Luck. 5 Skill. 10 Equals 50, this is without any disciplines factored in. Disciplines make you better than the average joe Bosolai: That's fine, though i might've fudged the stats a little when i was editing. Your fne though |
