Maxim: Porn or Not?
 

I ask this question because my girlfriend, whom I live with, e-mailed me today upon fiding a Maxim magazine in my office and told me she was very upset because I had brought pornography into the house.

I know this sounds like a corny response, but I don't really buy Maxim for the women, I buy it because of the humorous content of the articles and features.

So I want to ask the Nuklear Power community. What is your take on Maxim magazine? Do you think it is porn? Hell, Stuff MAgazine is 25 times worse than Maxim when it comes to the photo spreads.

not porn in the slightest, in fact thats how it became so popular. Not everyone is comfortable purchasing full on porn, but pretty much every guy like looking at pictures of attratctive women. How to market to the lowest common denominator while still keeping things above board enough to make a whole lot of money?

make them take almost all of their clothes off!

this also helps becauser alot of a-list celebrities are more inclined to do a sexy, scantily clad photo layout than a playboy centerfold.

personally, the articles in Maxim stink, there is little humor beyond the rediculous and the writers lack any sort of sophistication or wit, not to mention the topics they choose to have articles about.

The only redeeming value in that magazine is the girls, and they're not even all the way naked!

I know gay guys who still like to look at naked ladies, just cuz they like to play with boobies. Most guys like to look at a snacktray or two in the cafeteria. Yet we are too young for porn, and those of us who dare to get it anyway may have the danger of getting caught. Maxim has brought millions of hormone-filled teenagers pictures of famous hot celebrities that we may indeed deem "Jackworthy". Interpret that as you will.

A) Not porn. Maybe a bit risque, but not porn.

B) Even if you did bring some porn home, I don't see how that's anyone's business other than your own. You are (I'm assuming) an adult, you should be able to buy and utilize porn if you so choose. I can see it being a problem if you were leaving it laying around with the centerfolds hanging out, but if it is kept tucked away in a drawer discreetly, then it shouldn't be any big deal. If your girlfriend tells you otherwise, she is deluding herself in regards to the nature of men.

...And why do you buy Maxim? At least go for Rolling Stone, it has better articles, writers, views, etc. And they got better girly pics.

I'm more interested in why your gf would care that you brought porn into the house. Elaborate only if you or she cares too, I'll be on my way.

Maxim is TECHNICALLY porn. Those pictures are there with the purpose of arousing men, but I certainly wouldn't categorize it as such.

A woman being forced to screw a dog while sucking off a dead guy by her identical twin sister, who is also a flaming lesbian and raping their mother... now THAT's porn!
