Mutant RP Sign-Up
World:
Semi-futuristic. Cybernetic parts exist, but are merely basic replacements for lost limbs or organs. No super strong cybernetic arm, just a simple cyborg arm that is fully functional as an arm, but nothing more. Hover cars exist, but only rich people have them. Advanced computers (Government, secret organizations) are controlled with neural implants, but most computers use high tech consoles. Everything else is modern, just upgraded a little. Recently, there have been many cases of humans gaining unnatural powers, abilities, and appearances. Some call this evolution, others call it mutation. The world is divided between fearing these people, and accepting them. Mutants: Your characters will be mutants. Mutant powers would be like those from X-Men or Static Shock. Their super powers, but not to super. And you don't have to look like a mutant to be a mutant. Story: It's a free-form world. All of the PCs will live in the same city, trying to survive as mutants. Of course, this city will be a target for every mad scientist who wants to became a super mutant by testing on normal mutants, secret organizations trying to eliminate mutants, gangs of evil mutants, and teams of good mutants. Players can create important NPCs, plots, and other story devices. However, they must first PM me whatever they want to make, then I have to improve it. Anything you come up with should be able to include most of the other players' characters. Non-important people, like cops coming to stop you as you rob a store, can be made up as needed. question, do we have to be on the good side, or can we be sadistic freak humans?
|
It's free-form, characters can be good or evil.
|
ok then I have a question on power caps. Assuming the mutant only has a single power. What are the limitations on psychokenetic powers (this includes simular powers such as magnetism), speed, strength/enderance, and regeneration
|
Base on X-Men. So, psychokinetic would be Jean Grey (Pre-Pheonix), minus the mind altering powers and focus on the throwing stuff with mind part. Speed is Quicksilver, fast as sound. Strength/endurance, many, many examples. Regeneration, Wolverine level.

Name:Shadow
Age:23 Sex:Male Appearance:Wears a deep black Trenchcoat. Has black hair. Wears black -sunglasses. Oddly if you ever see them his eyes are entirely black. Mutant Power: Like his name implies Shadow can become a shadow. Occupation:Thief Bio:Shadow was born as a street urchin in New York. He had no family but a nice old man who took care of him until the old man died when Shadow was 7. From then on Shadow roughed it on his own learning to pick pockets and steal. When shadow was 12 he came down with a strange fever. His friends took care of him while he was sick. During his sickness his eyes started to blacken. One night when Shadow started to have a seizure his powers first demonstrated himself. After coming out of shadow form he was cured. His eyes were now totally black and he realized he now had a way to strike back against the privaledged rich in society. Extra:Shadow is not a bad person, nor is he a Robin Hood. He steals for himself but he only steals from impossibly rich people. |
If he literally turns into a shadow, light would hurt him, shadows would make him stronger, and he would not pass through objects. Even if you remove the passing through objects part, light would still harm him because he is a shadow.
If you just want to pass through objects, have that be your power (Like Kitty Pride, aka Shadowcat). |
Though a shadow is defined by light. A shadow can easily live in a light world. Though there is no shadow in the complete dark. It is only dark there is nothing that can define the shadow in a dark world. So a shadow would be strenghtened by light and hurt by dark. I rest my case. Ok yah taking out walking through walls.

Complete darkness rarely happens, you're guy has no weakness, we go with cliche light.
But, since you made such a strong arguement, I think we'll go with both. In complete darkness he can't use his powers, and light harms him (Because if you put a spotlight on a shadow, the shadow is gone). Light wouldn't strengthen a shadow in any way, unless it is shining onto another object and making more shadows. |
So how about the stronger the light the weaker i get and eventually in really bright light i can't use shadow form.
