Fantastic Four trailer

The trailer for the Fantastic Four was released into theaters yesterday. Plus, it's up for viewing here. I don't really have an opinion on it because I was never really in to the comics. But, I figured someone on the boards would like to see it.

Now I'm not the biggest F4 fan in the universe, but already I can see some weirdness here:
First of all I'm pretty sure Doom wasn't on the ship with the rest of them when they were hit by cosmic rays; second of all Doom seems to have become some kind of Electricity Blaster, insead of a sceaming evil genius who rules his own country.

Aside from that though, it doesn't look too horrible. I always liked the Fantastic 4. Of all the old marvel cartoons it had the best theme tune.

Yeah, Dr doom originally got his powers from magic, and the whole reason he wore the mask in the comics is because Reed went to college with Doom, who blew himself up in an experiment which scarred his face "OMG TEH BURNINGESSS!!!" (actual quote from the comic), got expelled, and went to Tibet to seek out more knowledge about sorcery. However this new doom will probably be a better movie doom, but being a comic book nut, it kinda does upset me.

actually i heard that the movie is based more on Ultimate Fantasic Four. So has anyone read the comic that can compare?

It'll be entertaining, but I don't think it will be that good. For me, the fun part about Marvel movies is comparing them to the comics, making fun of the acting and finding plot holes.

The worst thing for the FF movie, is that it is set to premier on the same day as War of the Worldsm tehy will both hurt each other in box office, but FF stands to take much more of a severe beating

I think Fantastic Four and war of the worlds will do about equal, because there are people that no matter what will see each of them, and a lot that will go to see both anyway

I've only read a bit of Ultimate FF, but yeah, you can tell it's based more on the Ultimate line. In that one, Doom does get caught in the same accident that give the FF their powers, although in the comics, it wasn't in space.

I have to say though, I am not looking forward to this movie at all. I have a feeling they're going to just throw a bunch of pretty CG at us and hope we don't notice. Kinda like the Hulk. Or maybe I'm just cynical because I've seen a bit of the first time they tried to make a FF movie.

I wasn't even aware that a FF movie had been in production. But as Viper Daimao manetioned that the movie is following the flavour of the Ultimate run is to hard to conceive, that's how Spiderman 2 went in its path. Me being the huge nerd that I can be at times, will most likely go to the theatre on July first, and see both War of the Wrlhds and FF in the same day, you got to love matinee showings.

I'm going to see this movie. Mainly because I see every comic book movie in theaters (except Cawoman and Elektra, I'm not touching those.) Although I have discovered that there are far too many things I refer to with the abreviation FF because everytime I try to say fantastic four I end up going
"Final Fantasy, I mean Fatal Fury I mean Fantastic Four."
