Our Change

As you may or may not have noticed (most probably may not, as the new title and signature have been created for less than a minute), it has come to light that Ayn Rand's theories on Objectivism have some merit. She preaches the virtues of being selfish as good and the respect for oneself and one's desires above all else. In light of this fact, the royal 'We' (always capitalized) shall now be used instead of 'I'. We believe that while 'I' has its merits in Objectivism, it also is a tool of the mainstream, and the last non-existant forum search We did concluded that We were the first to use the royal form.

We created this thread merely because the hassle of explaining why We have decided to change Our pronouns around would be too much for too little in relation to the masses.

Since Roark in the Fountainhead became more determined the more people hated him, We have decided to crusade for NegaRep, the opposite of Your Positive Reputation dreams. Please feel free to NegaRep us.

We shall from now on (with now on being defined as "Whenever We finish the Fountainhead and related schoolwork") only quote Ourselves in Our signature. If you feel you have a quote of Ours you liked, please PM it to Us.

We wish you a good day.

You did read Anthem didn't you? You do realize that Ayn Rand considered the pluralization of the personal pronoun the very worst tool of the "second-handers".

That being said, I like your icon, and I loved the Fountainhead and Anthem. I thought Atlas Shrugged was a bit over the top though.

We were not aware of this (We have just started The 'back-breaking' Fountainhead), but it won't deter Us, since We kind of like the eccentricity of it all, and We'll stick by it.

you think Fountainhead is backbreaking? wait till Atlas Shrugged. 1168 pages. Luckily I know that paper companies actually increase the number of trees we have.

Not having read Anthem, I suppose it is excuseable that you (singular...take that!) don't know that "I" is a sacred word, allowing individuals to separate themselves from the masses of faceless humanity.

"We" used to describe a single person indicates either a hive mindset, schizophrenia, multiple personality disorder, or that you consider yourself to be the Queen of England.

Thou asketh for Negative Rep, thou hast been granted thy wish. Enjoyeth.

Don't you see? Negative Rep now means Positive Rep for My Lead Airbag, so when he asks for Negative Rep, you should give him Positive Rep! PosiRep!

One would have to go with Dragonsbane on this one, talking like that just makes you sound like you have multiple personality disorder, but who is One to talk. My experience is limmited in this field and my avatar looks like a pot smoking carebear. One would ask a favor though, I am good at reading quick, so where could you (or you all, or ya'll for us uneducated) find that book in the library, or a bookstore.

We don't consider Ourselves to be the "Queen of England" as you say, but We do consider Ourselves royal.

You sound like Dr. Doom. Or Bob Dole.

Three cheers for Ayn Rand, though. I like her work. =o)
