Naruto RP: Chapter 1, Chunnin Exam – Preparation

Sushini Sako, Miso Ryoshin, Hebachii Shinryu, and Mitamitsu Mori, Kambei's team, met in their usual meeting place, a tall hill used to observe half of the city. Kambei, their jounin teacher, wore the traditional jounin uniform. Dark blue pants and long sleeved shirt, dark green pouched vest, and metal plated gloves. His dark, unkempt blonde hair and aged brown eyes gave him a lazy appearance.

When the last of the team arrived, Kambei made his announcement. "Well, you're all here. So, here it is." He held out four passes to the chuunin exams, which were being held in Konoha. "Passes to the chunnin exam."

Mori took his pass, and read it. He was surprised to get this, since they were all rookies. He held his tongue however, and didn't want to question his teacher.

Tasukete Chumaru, Sacho, Houkama Jikkouchuu, and Daikoru Taiju, Doi's team, were also meeting in their usually place, the main gate of the Forbidden Forest of Death. Doi wore the Kohona uniform, like most jounin do. Dark blue pants and long sleeved shirt, dark green pouched vest, and metal plated gloves. He was a large, burly man, with a shaved head and dark eyes, and had a very intimidating appearance.

He arrived after the rest of his team, like he usually does. "Okay, listen up! Here are your chunnin exam passes, I recommonded you all for the exam. You have to take this together, or you can't take it at all." Doi tossed each of the passes to their owner.

Houkama Jikkouchuu examined his pass. The Chuunin Exam, he thought to himself as he smoothed his robes, my next step towards becoming a Jounin and returning honor to my family. Jikkouchuu wore a nervous expression on his face, "Sir, may I ask what we should prepare to pass the test?" Jikkouchuu's hazel eyes met the eyes of his sensei.

Chumaru gripped the pass with both hands. This was it, his chance to restore his parents' honor. Tears welled up in his eyes. "I'm gonna tell my mom and dad tonight, they'll be so happy," he gushed. He noticed that a few tears had splashed on his pass, so he stuffed into his pocket. He leaned against the gate, then pushed himself back off the gate and checked the shadowy woods behind him. Sometimes he thought he saw monsters in there, and he wanted to be sure that there were none back there today. Satisfied, he leaned against the gate again and listened to his cell-mates.

Sacho took the pass and looked at it thinking to himself and aloud. "The Chunnin exams. Hear some students even die from this test." He had a big smile on his face. "Sounds like a great chance to show what I can do." He lept down from the tree branch he was perched on. "So I am in."

Sako rested one hand upon the shoulder of her sturdy feline friend and examined the chuunin pass in swift detail.
“Two days, huh,” she mused lazily, showing her fangs in a predatorial smile. She showed the piece of paper to Kaoru and watched as her friend scanned it. She didn’t know when or where Kaoru picked up the ability to read, but it certainly is an asset. “What do you think, Kaoru? Are we up for the challenge?”
“[I’d say go for it,]” he purred, marking the paper by rubbing his head against it gently. Sako grinned, then turned her head to observe her other teammates’ reaction, her clawed fingers absent-mindedly rubbing the fur behind Kaoru’s ears.
“Kambei sensei,” she spoke after a moment of pondering, “you’re certain we’re up for it? I’ve heard that people die in this exam.”

Miso could'nt help but grin as Kambei made the announcement. She was trembling with excitement "Heh, i can show everyone now...I am not crippled!" She mumbled to herself. She folded the pass and placed it underneath her Shuriken strap. Miso knew the satisfaction was obvious on her face, she turned her head in Sako's direction and smiled. "What's the matter, afraid you and your kitty aren't up for it?" That was an open challenge, Miso unzipped her jacket as she talked. "I know you can't be scared..."

Miso would probably spend the next two days training nonstop. A few of her more powerful moves were slow and needed polishing.

"I reccomended you for the exam, didn't I?" Kambei said in response to Sako's question.

Mori stared at his pass. He had no ambition to became a chuunin any time soon, especially since he did not except to be in the chuunin exams for at least a year.. However, he was confident that he and his team would at least survive the exam, from his own experiences and because Kambei did reccomend them.

Unlike the rest of his team, Mori would do little training outside of what he usually does. Mostly he would make sure his gardens are in order, since once the exams start, he may be gone for a while.

"Train to be a ninja." Doi said. "I won't tell you any more."

Sako laughed at Miso's prod, and smoothed the fur on a bristling Kaoru. She raised her right hand, the chain attached to it clinking ominously at the sudden movement. She reached up and brushed away a stray strand of hair.
"You're right. I'm not scared," she acknowledged Miso's last statement, neatly avoiding the first. "In fact," she added slowly, a smile creeping into her voice, "I'm just about bursting with anticipation as well. Kambei sensei, forget that question. I was being too blunt."
"[Again,]" she heard Kaoru mutter, then add in a louder meow, "[you should just let me give Miso a taste of what a hurt pride can do, Sako.]"
"Ah, but I dislike hurting friends, Kaoru. Besides, it is just friendly jousting," she replied to Kaoru's feline words.
In her mind, she was already planning her training course for the next two days leading up to the chuunin exams. She also needed to brush up on a couple of her taijutsus.

Sacho jumped atop the fence to the forest. He looked into its dark void. "I heard the sometimes use these very woods in the tests. Wouldn't that be exciting. A real challenge." He then leaned back hanging upside down on the fence. He looked around seeing the others.

Taiju looked at the Chunnin exam pass, and at his teammates. They were surely excited, but he knew that other, much stronger genins would be there. He was ready to start training, it had been a while since he used his special technique.
"Perhaps this time would be better spent training then sitting here talking," he said quietly to himself.
