OOC: Ugh... Have you ever seen a horse before? And you would have to jump from good branch to good branch, which would probably make you zig-zag around, otherwise the branch would just break. And I doubt the horse has to swerve to much.

I hate them all... Lynx thought to himself, continuing forward, ignoring the group and the burrow.

"Kya!" Dawn finally lost her grip, rolling for a few feet before coming to a stop face forward in the ground. She whinced as she got up slowly, watching her horse still running off ahead of her when suddenly a clawed hand of sorts reached out and grabbed the runaway equine. She shuddered as she heard the animal cry out one last time, and horrible crunching noises coming from where it had disappeared. "I'm just imagining this... I just bumped my head on something when I let go..."

Cesia watched as nearly everyone dashed off after Dawn... "Um... I guess I'll stay here with the horses and Thid." Cesia sighed. If the monster had a taste for animals, she didn't want to suddenly lose the horses that the town had supplied them with, they needed to make it back to the castle quickly, and riding horseback was probably the quickest way.

[OOC] ooo, that would be funny. With skill and grace he jumps from branch to branch, and then when he gets to dawn, SNAP, he hits the ground hard and starts cursing like a sailor [OOC]

Vace saw Dawn on her horse, and suddenly she was thrown off. As he came closer, before he could say a word suddenly the horse that had kept running was picked up by one massive claw and killed instantly. Vace stopped his horse next to Dawn and said, "Umm, maybe it wouldn't be such a good idea to fight this thing..."

((hey, IHMN, if you forgot, my character was made as an orc, which already is physically better off than a human, then he is a lycan, which gives him a major boost. besides, this is a fantasy rpg. think about it for a moment. and that would be funny if he did snap a branch just as he reaches dawn.))

Kalimare jumped down as he saw Vace and Dawn, and landed hard on the ground. He could hear the same noises that Dawn and Vace had heard. Already in lycan form, he cautiously walked forward...

((celes, take over and tell me what it is...if it is the beast.))

OOC: Even fantasy needs rules, and your guy would probably snap any branch that he landed on, being an Orc, he is heavy, and the Lynac makes him heavier.

Kalimare stepped forward, now able to see what had been terrorizing the forest.

It's teeth, which were about as long as Kalimare's forearm alone, snapped, finishing off the horse it had just eaten. It stood on all fours, and was covered in thick, spikey, brown scales. It's long, lizard-like tale whipped back and forth, waiting for it's next prey.

(OOC: and when I say thick scales, I mean thick. Piecing it's armor will be very unlikely, if not impossible.)

((IHMN, let's just not argue about this. If my character happens to do something that makes him look physically better than the others, then live with it. Besides, he wasn't jumping on branches, those would break under a cat's weight. He was jumping on the limbs of the tree. Difference.))

The lizard-beast (i guess i'll call it that) saw Kalimare and lunged forward at him. Kalimare instinctively jumped back from the lizard-beast's reach and pulled out his sword. He then let out a yell and a message.

"EVERYONE, THIS THING DOESN'T LOOK FRIENDLY!!! HELP WILL NOT BE UNAPPRECIATED!!!"

The lizard-beast swiped down at Kalimare, and he rolled to the side, got up and swung his sword at the lizard-beast's hide. A loud clang could be heard as the sword bounced off of its hide. Kalimare then turned and ran in a direction different than where Dawn and Vace were, so that he could perhaps lead the beast away from them. The lizard-beast, amazingly, followed after him, seeming to have chosen Kalimare as his next prey. Kalimare swung his sword, not at the lizard-beast, but at the trees. He was attempting to bury the beast under them, or at least do some damage. A few trees fell before Kalimare had to continue running. He hoped someone would help. Even his abilities wouldn't be enough to take out this creature.

Dawn scrambled a bit to get back up to her feet, holding onto the side of Vace's horse as Kali attacked the huge lizard and diverted his attention away from them. "We've got to do something... that thing's going to hurt Kalimare!"
