Fable: Worth the hype?
 

Alright, most people know that X-box is coming out with a game called "Fable". Now, supposedly, it's going to be the best RP ever made, because the game truly molds around the actions your character takes. I don't know much about it. Anyone know some stuff?

It appears to look like KoTOR on crack in medievil times...and its made by that Peter Molynuexsacveoifpoh guy, and he made Black and White...but its also been pushed back like eighty months or so...

It looks intriguing, but I have this little nagging thing in the back of my head that says itll be sucky...

Apparently, you can do whatever you want, and kill whoever you want... Feeling this will turn out to be a mediveal GTA...

Well, if it's the same guy who made Black and White, it's got to have SOME redeeming qualities. And I heard that you can kill whoever you want, and if you do, their family will hunt you down, and inns or stores won't service you.

You know an awful lot for someones who begging to know more...

And I don't know, I just think ol' Pete might be biting off more than he can chew is all.

I've never played a bad Peter Molyneux game. I just hope to high heaven this one's the same. He's also coming out with B.C., another XB-exclusive, which also looks really good. Well, even if Fable blows, their homepage is hella fun.

It will either be really bad, or really good. The concept is great, but it all depends on how it's pulled off.

I agree with Outbounder, from what they say it sounds like it'll be great, but if they don't do it right it could also be horrible. Personally, running only on what I know now, Fable is the only thing that could convince me to buy an X-Box, with Steel Battalion coming in second.

He did it with Black and White. He's doubtlessly doing it here.

I've becoming more and more unimpressed with the potential for this game - and I was once tempted to buy an XBox solely for Fable. Thing is, the list of features that are to be in the game at first were, initially, mind-boggling. Then they slashed some things, and it was only amazing. Then they slashed some more, and it was merely interesting. Then...well, you get the point.

This, of course, isn't even considering the fact that no game EVER seems to manage to live up to it's hype.

Fable - your parents are killed and you are sent to an orphanage. You can be good or you can be a bad guy. You can choose to fight the best with a big ole' battle ax and get superstrong and buff and stuff.

Or you can slink into the shadows, come out and cut a guards throat and slip back without them ever finding the dagger.

As well, you can use magic but be warned that the more you use it the whiter your hair gets (something to do with life force but meh...)

So it sounds interesting... But I have a PS2 so...
