It is a damn shame that I didn't compress the goblin .psd for use at other computers, I would've finished it this week. This past week and a half I've been on a roll! |
I've been experimenting a new system for coloring my webcomic, because colored pencils don't show up well on my scanner, and these character sketches are the results.
Lionel, White Mage http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g1...g/Lionel-1.gif Antonio, Swashbuckler Extraordinaire http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g1...og/Antonio.gif Carnahan, Elven Ninja http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g1...g/Carnahan.gif Vania, Avian Archer http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g1...lrog/Vania.gif Hemlock, Elven Black Mage Algernon, Dwarven Engineer and MR-CO Cykla, Dryad Summoner Vania's turned out pretty bad because the index card she was drawn on had some problems that made it exceedingly difficult to deal with. I eventually just gave up and said "Good enough", but I think that the others turned out alright, particularly Carnahan and Hemlock. Final three are links because of the four-pictures-per-post rule. Comments, plz |
Maybe you should get a program like GIMP or something... ^^ That's too bad that your scanner isn't working correctly.
Anyway. I like Lionel's mustache. It's cool that you're doing a webcomic. ^^ http://img226.imageshack.us/img226/3...0001ax2.th.jpg *ahem* I just did this picture for my friend who is an obsessed mustang fangirl. Finally got some drawin' time in. I know it's quite a bit wonky looking, I'm not used to drawing the male torso. ^^ (tried to use some references) Anyway, yeah, that's just a little thing I whipped up between classes. Next I want to draw some Legend of Zelda fanart. *drools* I've been in such a kick lately. |
Thanks for the feedback. Also, I got one of my new comics drawn up using this coloring system, and I like how it turned out way better than how it used to be.

My latest project!
I left the skeleton in there for those of you who may have problems with such a thing. Believe me, it's awkward at first but it helps so friggin much! http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a48...ngilLines2.jpg |
So I am back... I haven't been on the forum in a while not that anyones missed me lol and I bring sketches... well one and it's... not done but something none the less.
Grandmaster: I love your drawing style. Keep up the awsome work. I never had much luck with skeletons; my drawings always had bad proprtions when I used them.:sweatdrop Elflad: Looks like a good start. I suggest photoshop but that just me lol. CelesJessa: Mustang is quite awsome and a love the the little smile he has. -- Some here is my little sketch of Chaos (from FF7: Dirge Of Cerberus an amazing game might I add) He has quite the look on his face... he's supposed to be staring at Lucrecia. Anyway it's unfinished but comments and criticism is very much welcome.:D http://img245.imageshack.us/my.php?image=vincentgc5.jpg |
Niko, adding photoshop into the mix wouldn't make it any better. Compare it to a paintbrush and a bucket of paint. Applied wrong it's still a mess on canvas.
What elflad needs is actual practice in all aspects of drawing. Anatomy, proportion, figure drawing, texture, perspective, shape, dimension, form, etc. Everything that is entailed in drawing isn't being used by elflad. I hate to be blunt but theres no other way to put it. It is of my opinion that a person should have an established understanding of at least basic, if not more more advanced, aspects of art before making a comic and/or webcomic for public viewing. |
CJ the male torso get easier if you think about how the muscle is stretched between the breast bone and the shoulders, which you probably already know but thought I'd throw it out there. As is he kinda has boobs and no lats, very cool otherwise.
Elflad try some tutorials or just spend some time doing some studies on figures and composition, repetition and getting criticism are what help form a style that people will find visually stimulating. Also I will be bringing on the drawings after the 11th which is when I finally get online at home. Kudos to everyone who keeps the art coming in here! |
